Great location on the village/town square, and it’s a bar/restaurant with rooms, so we really enjoyed sitting outside with drinks, watching the world go by.

Lovely old town with a fabulous cheese shop and fabulous chocolate shop. Market on a Saturday morning. Only an hour or so from eurotunnel/ferries so perfect for a weekend away from southern uk or overnight stop when returning from further south in France Close to many other delightful towns and historic sites

A historic town with a citadelle and several historic buildings. There are several town squares some with lovely planting. There are plenty of places to eat. We would highly recommend Le Patio restaurant where we had the most amazing meal at a very affordable price. The place seemed popular with a wider range of shops than we'd found elsewhere.

A remarkable town with a fascinating history, spectacular ramparts and a citadel that isvery interesting to visit. There are numerous walks in and around the town, ranging from 4km around the ramparts to 23km around the surrounding coutryside and the Charne valley. There are some excellent restaurants and bars, such as Darnetal. The whole place has a sleepy authentic feel to it. A great place for a weekend break.

The hotel has an Art Deco feel albeit slightly frayed around the edges.
The restaurant was very enjoyable with an imaginative set menu and an accompanying wine flight. The restaurant staff were both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Our Club room was OK but not great value for money. A week previously we had spent four nights in Dublin where, for the same price, we had a far superior room. However our biggest gripe was being charged 10 Euro for two tea bags, not two cups of tea, but just two tea bags. Despite questioning the charge the receptionist was adamant. It is a shame that such a meanness of spirit should mar what would otherwise been a very pleasant stay.

We love Montreuil-sur-Mer, and have been visiting it for some 30 years now. It's a lovely historic town, surrounded by ramparts with gorgeous views and walks all around, within a very compact distance.
It is full of history and Victor Hugo based Les Mis on it with a big Son et Lumiere in the Citadel in the summer, with most of the town taking part
It has many excellent restaurants and bars, and atmospheric walks. Great market on Saturdays with all kinds of events throughout the year.
Its location means you can be in delightful countryside instantly and it's a short drive to coastal towns like Le Touquet and Hardelot Plage, with beautiful sandy beaches and delightful seafood restaurants, as well as pine woods and golf courses.
Recommend the Valley of the Course just running up to the north, which is beautiful with the not-to-be missed chocolate factory in Beussant, and Desvres with its excellent ceramics beyond.
We always bring bikes, as great cycling, but watch out for the cobbles in the town centre. (Paves). Very helpful tourist office and lots of quality shops.
To be honest, we rarely go further south.
Love the town and the area. We just had a gorgeous summer break in October for heaven's sake!

See reviews by guests who stayed at hotels in Montreuil-sur-Mer
I've stayed in Montreuil many times when travelling to/from Tunnel s/l Manche, my usual hotel was unavailable this time. I found the room excellent (the air cooling most welcome in the 30C heat), quiet location (at the back of the hotel), good shower & plenty of hot water, hotel well located for Montreuil restaurants & centre ville. An added attraction was the availability of secure parking for my motorcycle (9 euro per night). Would I book here again - yes; would I eat here again - no.
We had a very nicely decorated and comfortable room overlooking the lovely marketplace.
Everything we needed was in the room- kettle and tea and coffee were a nice surprise along with bottles of water. Wifi worked well. Great shower with plenty of hot water.
We didn't eat downstairs but the food looked great.
I think we must have been in the best hotel in Montreuil- sur-Mer
Thank you
I use b&b's a lot in France and this exceeded my expectations. One of the best places I have stayed. The owners were very friendly and they know how to present their business, it's a real gem. I will be staying there again. Steve.
