The property is stunning- beautiful gardens, breakfast terrace with ocean view, two small but beautiful pools. The manager was fantastic- friendly helpful and informative
Basse-Terre is a big area to review. There is a lot of things to do, including hiking the volcano and going to many beaches. We like Deshaies region in the north of Basse-Terre. Hiking the volcano was good too.

The location is superb for exploring Basse-Terre by car. The view from the balcony / living area is exceptional too, so we were never in a rush to leave in the morning! The gîte is a well appointed, cosy retreat. It's only a few minutes drive from the Monoprix so it's very easy to buy nice food & wines for a night on the terrace after a long hike. Our hosts were charming and warm.
