We had the most amazing stay at this hotel. We stayed for 9 days and it truly felt like a family and home. The staff, without exception, were great and always ready to help. The entire team was professional, and a special mention goes to Mr. Marino and his staff for their exceptional service. The hotel's location in the center is perfect, with proximity to the most beautiful beach, Mora Mora, with free access from the hotel. The charming ambiance adds to the overall experience. Breakfast was top-notch, making our stay even more delightful. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a perfect stay!

FAQs about hotels in Lecce

A Southern Limestone Gem

Lecce dazzles every visitor offering one of Italy’s best preserved walled historic centres. Its wonders include tasteful traditional cuisine, rich wines, and charming shops. Located near the crystalline waters of both the Adriatic and Ionian beaches, it is a perfect base to explore the Salentine Peninsula.

Its origins are unclear, but it is believed that dates back to the 12th or 11th century BC, when Italic tribes founded a settlement nearby, which Romans later occupied and relocated to its current position. The pages of its history are filled by Byzantine rulers, several invasions, a Norman rebirth, and an annexation to the Kingdom of Sicily.

Its distinctive Baroque style is combined with well-preserved Roman remnants. Don’t miss the historic centre during sunset, when the light creates a perfect contrast between the blue sky and the mild-yellow colour of the limestone buildings. St Oronzo Square houses the Roman Amphitheatre, while the outstanding Holy Cross Basilica is a must. Don’t miss the magic of staying in a hotel or B&B in Lecce’s Old Town.

The city is serviced by the local railway station, while Brindisi Airport is 45 km away. Whether you’re searching for rural accommodation in the surroundings of Lecce, a resort on the nearby beaches, or a cosy guest house in the centre, check out the deals available on Booking.com.

Having stayed in many places in Italy Lecce is certainly up there. Beautiful limestone buildings not affected by pollution, still clean. Emphasis was more on plenty of good eating choices in great locations. Less museums and galleries than other main stream Italian cities. You'd do everything if you stayed a week. But with a car there are many other interesting places to visit.

Lecce is a beautiful town in southern Puglia, Salento region. It is very well connected with roads so coming to and leaving the town is very easy. Local people are nice, polite and it doesn't seem that there is a lot of petty-crime. The historical center is simply beautiful and the food is excellent no matter whether you are having a street food or you are enjoying dinner in a nice restaurant. I strongly recommend to all travelers to Puglia to visit Lecce and the wider Salento region.

    An architectural bean-feast.

An architectural bean-feast. You can walk round for days just admiring one building, church or palace, and piazza after another, all more or less XVII century baroque, in barochetto leccese, absolutely unique. If you’re not interested in architecture though, you can still enjoy the town as it is, a masterpiece of urban fabric and a delight to discover. The whole town is more or less pedestrianised, so either on foot or hire a push-bike. There are no museums or art galleries to speak of, the town itself is a living museum. Many eateries and cafes with interesting local dishes. The place comes to life when the heat dies down in the evening, many outdoor street restaurants. Lecce is also a very good centre for taking day excursions all over Puglia. By car, on organised trips or, very easily, by train. Strongly recommend Matera, Ostuni & Bari.

It was my first time in Italy, and I loved Lecce. It was very beautiful, I could walk all day around the city and not get bored or tired. I loved everything about it. The city center was amazing, the food was very good and affordable. The people were very nice. The bars were open till late night hours. I stayed for two nights, and I think that it was enough.

Beautiful old city with amazing architecture.

Beautiful old city with amazing architecture. We were there for two days which was enough time to do a guided walk and also to do some sightseeing. Not much to do there apart from walking around and taking photos and eating but plenty of nice places to sit for a drink and food and prices were fairly cheap.

Lecce is a must visit location.

Lecce is a must visit location. Old town is amazing, and very lively unlike other old towns we had visited in Puglia. Maybe because it is a big city. Loads to see. And plenty of food options from local nonna to international standard fares. Get Baroque'd out. Unbelievable. And the papier mache sculptures are truly unbelievable. We were amazed to discover what we thought to be carved timber ceiling is actually papier mache at one of the churches. Visit one of the papier mache artisan shops for a close up look. Seeing the sunset from the Duomo's belltower is another sight worth doing. We enjoyed simply wandering around the old town both during the day as well as after sunset. We felt safe. Also try to get on a vineyard wine tour. Not well advertised but one of the operators we contacted said he was fully booked all the way til September, and we were there in May. Sample good locally produced wine and olive oil. We discovered how good their rosatos can be, using Primitivo and Negroamaro grapes. Lecce is also a good base to explore the Salento peninsula with it's amazing coastline, sea caves, stony beaches, and multiple towns which are short drives away.

We’ve spent two fantastic days in Lecce. The hosts were unbelievably nice, the apartment was super clean and very elegant. The bed was very comfortable. Every day we would eat breakfast at the balcony and it felt like a dream. God bless Italy. Dario and Amanda made sure that we felt like at home. Dario reserved us a place in a restaurant that is known for the best bruschetta in Lecce, and it definitely was. He also made sure that we had our deck chairs on the beach. I highly recommend choosing this accommodation. Thank you sincerely.

Stylish old palazzo hidden away within the old town of Lecce and close to the beautiful Duomo. Inside the hotel is presented with stunning antique furniture making it feel as though you are being entertained in a private home of some substance. The room was comfortable and although not one of the more expensive ones had all the facilities needed. The showpiece of the Palazzo is the large and stunning roof terrace with unrivalled views over the rooftops of Lecce.

A big thank you to the staff for going above and beyond our expectations, from reception staff to super friendly housekeeping staff. Would 100% recommend this hotel - we’ll definitely come back when we are in Puglia!
