Hotel Palazzo Benci, hotel in Florence

Hotel Palazzo Benci offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi internet. It is halfway between Florence's cathedral and Santa Maria Novella Train Station, a 5-minute walk from each.

This hotel actually exceeded my expectations. I know European hotels can be a mixed bag, but the rooms were new, and it was very clean and convenient. I like it a lot and would highly recommend. There was nearby laundry self-service, and the hotel staff were all super, super nice and friendly. It really meant a lot to me how helpful and kind they were with all my questions. You can just tell they want you to have the best time, and they care about your experience. I think in general Florence can feel a bit like a tourist trap, but this hotel had so much Italian warmth and hospitality. Would come again! Also the location was amazing. Right by tram for airport and close to Mercato Centrale and most of the attractions. Really was super ideal.

    Florence was absolutely beautiful.

Florence was absolutely beautiful. Incredible culture and architect, so much history and of course, food it amazing. We visited Uffizi and Academia Gallery and the Great Synagogue of Florence. Parking outside of the old town is difficult but if you park just outside, you have a beautiful walk and it goes without saying that walking inside the Old Town is an experience in itself.

Fascinating city, however be prepared for significant crowds everywhere. Pre-book museums in advance to avoid queues (the queue for the Duomo is hours long, and we were advised the view inside is not that special). Plenty of places to eat/drink. We had one full day of sight-seeing, and whilst we didn't see that much in terms of what's available, we felt that after the calm of San Gimignano, that was enough.

Florence is unique for it’s beautiful architecture, culture and history. At one time, it was known as the capital of Italy and is believed to be the birthplace of Renaissance. This is where one can see appreciate paintings by Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Caravagio, etc. One can also gaze at the statue of“David” by Michelangelo and see numerous replicas of it throughout the city. There are also beautiful churches, cathedrals and frescoes to visit.

    Florence is a must-see City.

Florence is a must-see City. Easy to get to and trains etc. excellent and easy to negotiate. The museums, churches and art galleries are world class as is the architecture. The restaurants are wonderful and there is a range of food and cost to suit everyone. The leather products are phenomenal and a reasonable price for the quality. Easy to get out into the Tuscany countryside when City life gets too much. September is a good month to visit. Very pleasant temperature.

Florence is a lovely walkable city with plenty of sights and restaurants. Be prepared to queue or arrange a tour when visiting Duomo. Pitti Palace was well worth a visit. The people are friendly and it is reasonably priced. You have to get used to the slight odour if there has been heavy rain but it doesn’t detract from your overall experience of Florence.
