I loved my bungalow , I stayed in BPG and room was clean , well maintained and the air conditioner worked very well my entire visit. They provide tv, drinking water, there’s a beautiful patio and the views are breathtaking. Breakfast options were delicious, can’t go wrong with Captain breakfast and everything cooked and tasted perfect. Friendly waitstaff at the restaurant and at the front desk. Thank you for Villa caribe for making a last minute change for me and accommodating so graciously. Housekeeping and other staff equally friendly for this solo female traveler trying to learn Spanish in this beautiful country. Thank you!

Stuart & German were great and helped facilitate all our requests during our stay. The food was amazing and the property is very pretty with the garden space and outdoor seating area overlooking the water. It also has it's own private dock which is very convenient since most travel you do is by boat there.

Lives up to its name. Eco-lodge, hidden off the Rio Dulce. About 30min from Livingston, and they have tour options you can book (if you are able to meet the min. Persons required) they are more affordable than doing it on your own. River was great to hang in. The family dinners were also excellent, and folks really interacted with each other across groups.

What a beautiful, magical place it is! Perfect for those who love nature, jungle sounds, peace and quiet. Great walks in the jungle, swims in the river and sunbathing by the dock. They also organize various tours if you can drag yourself away from your hammock:).

This place does a great job of accommodating your needs. I loved how helpful they are with setting up activities for you and getting any food or drinks that you want.
Located in El Higuerito, a few steps from Ribera Rio Dulce Beach, Tenamit Maya has a number of amenities including a garden, a restaurant and a bar. Guests can enjoy mountain views.
It should be a tourist hot spot in Guatemala. Unfortunately the beaches are covered in trash. I wouldn’t recommend a visit to Livingston unless you’re passing through. If you happen to have some time in Livingston I recommend a trip to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares. The lancha to Playa Blanca only gives you an hour in Siete Altares so we went back the next day. Just take a tuktuk to the bridge and walk. It’s a great place to swim in cool fresh water in the jungle.

It's a very interesting little town and it's really worth making sure that you go to the beach and part of town where the Garífuna community live. They seem rather excluded from the main benefits of tourism in the town which seems mainly owned by foreigners with Maya staff. I don't think the Garífuna benefit financially as much as they should from tourism. Try the restaurants over that side of town by the beach - Guamo Place was excellent for example.

Livingston has a peculiar magic!!!
Livingston has a peculiar magic!!!
we loved the walk to 7 Altars.
At the hotel Casa Rosada we take a tour across the river visiting the Canion, Tatin river, Aguas calientes, manatee sanctuary, some beautiful lagoons, we made nice two hours Canopy for Q125.00 and we stoped in Cayo Quemado Texan Mike restaurant and we swam there.....we had an unforgettable time!!!
As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Sonny and his lovely dog Buddha, which is super obedient! We cooked in his kitchen and we were even invited to his BBQ with his friends!
The place is just right off the sea. It is about 20mins walking distance from the centre but you can easily take a tuk tuk if you prefer for about 5Q per person.
We booked for 3 nights but wished we could have stayed longer!
If you plan to visit Livingston, I'd definitely recommend you to stay here! You'll enter as a guest but leave as a friend!
Amazing cozy hotel with a beautiful view of the river. Lovely staff always willing to help you out with anything you need.
I loved the atmosphere, it was feeling like home! Good internet connection that allows you to work.
My fav spot was the dock on the river, perfect place where to make yoga, read a book, listen to music, drink a beer at night with friends or just relax.
Super nice hotel, in a very quiet location by the beach. The pool can be used until 9pm and it was great to chill for a couple of days. Clean and spacious appartment, delicious breakfast and extremely helpful staff. Thank you!
Nice, cheap hostel in Livingstone, 10mins from the centre. nice facilities, no food other than breakfast. very chilled atmosphere, good place to rest and recharge
