The hotel was perfect, high standard all round. customer service was unreal, never had a better experience in my life. I left a very small and expensive item by mistake, contacted the hotel a couple days later. Turns out the cleaner found it, and they arranged a courier to collect it and get it back to me in the UK.
Not only is this hotel in a great spot, with a vibrant, great looking room and amazing view of the lake - but it was also one of the more affordable choices in the area. This also shows you can trust the staff on duty. I will be returning for sure if I ever come back to this part of Italy.
Next to the beach and the departure point for boats to the Borromean Islands, Hotel Belvedere San Gottardo is in Verbania centre.

Pallanza is a lovely small town with a peaceful lake shore compared with other lakeside locations - the main road runs along the top of the town rather than along the lakeside so while there is some traffic, it's not too much.

Given there was a strike by ferry workers the day after we arrived, we did well to see Isola Madre and Isola Bella, the main island for tourists. However with more time we would have liked to see Isola Superiorre as well.

A good location next to Lake Maggiore a short walk from the hotel to the ferries. The options to visit other places and islands on the lake was very easy just getting the ferry. The market was very colourful and not that crowded in Pallanza.

Beata Giovannina is a hotel, restaurant and pizzeria at the west end of the lakefront in Verbania. Easy to find as you approach Verbania from the west.
There's a parking area beside the hotel (the large restaurant is actually under the parking area).
Room was comfortable, up stairs (very few places have lifts), with toilet and shower, and had a small balcony with views over the lake.
The pizzeria produced the best pizza I have ever tasted, and has its own terrace overlooking the lake - perfect.
The parking area was almost full with restaurant traffic, but emptied out later in the evening - the rest of the Verbania lakefront towards town, parking was crammed.

Verbania is an amazing town.
Verbania is an amazing town. It has many historical and cultural sites to visit and the people are very welcoming. The food was amazing and I loved it. The thing I thought was bad was the signaling of the public transports. There were no panels or anything explaining how the buses worked, what times they would pass etc. Not even google maps showed anything. So the only way you could know was to go to the bus stop and ask around.

A very pretty and picturesque part of the world. Easy access by boat to all the major towns and islands. Go south for one hour and you are in Milan. Go north for one hour and you are in the Swiss Alps. Lovely place.
The property is a beautiful old Italian house and gardens, providing a wonderful oasis for a holiday by Lago Maggiore. It's 10 minutes walk to the waterfront. The room was lovely and large for us and very clean and comfortable. Our private bathroom was very spacious too.. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.. The owners are a lively couple, really friendl and helpful. I would 100% recommend this b&b.
Our stay in Verbania was great. The rooms were clean and tidy, equipped with air conditioning and a very nice shower. Breakfast was à la carte and of good quality, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, everything was fine, making it a recommended hotel.
The hotel has a early 20th century charm to it and feels like a movie set. The location is central to Verbania on a pleasant side street. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I ate dinner and breakfast and everything was good.
