I was just passing thru on my way back from Quebec.
I was just passing thru on my way back from Quebec. But the town is very nice. They've hosted two Olympics here and it's probably a lot more popular in the winter (I was there in early October). A decent selection of restaurants, but they're not all open 7 days/week in the off season so check ahead. A good ski town.

We wanted a short vacation with some sightseeing. The drive to the top of Whiteface Mountain and the view/structures at the top should not be missed. We visited John Brown's Farm also and learned so much about his and other locals efforts to help the slaves.
Next time we will see some of the shops downtown and the museum.

Lake Placid is a place of amazing air and beauty.
Lake Placid is a place of amazing air and beauty. This is the second year I've used this geography to refresh my health, both lungs and mind. The Adirondacks in general, where Lake Placid is located has always been a place of wonder. I would see the area on the way up to Montreal, and out of curiousity one day, finally set out to explore. Lake Placid has it's own community that cares very much for the preservation, cleanliness, and reputation of the area. Hiking the trails, always amazing, the water, always clear and refreshing. Water travel by kayak, paddle board. Plenty of "dog parents" to be found and converse with. I love this place. The air regenerates me. The area puts me back in tune with the better part of humanity that cares for mother earth's splendour.

We were a group of 19 people from Europe, and we stopped in Lake Placid on our journey from Montreal to New York. Unfortunately, it was very rainy during our one-and-a-half-day stay in July. We made the best of it and managed to complete a short hike (Mt. Jo Loop). Visiting the ski jump tower was a memorable experience for everyone. Unfortunately, the Skyflyer Zip Line was closed due to the rain, so we missed out on that.

I recently stayed at The Devlin Hotel in Lake Placid and it was an unforgettable experience! The stunning views of the mountains right from the room were amazing. The hotel perfectly blends retro charm with modern comfort. My room was spacious..and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. I loved waking up to the mountain views. It’s just a short walk to Main Street and local attractions. The staff were welcoming too! I highly recommend The Devlin for anyone looking to relax while exploring upstate.
The hotel looks very new. Its designed beautifully. The lobby and common areas are so welcoming and the view to the lake is amazing.
The room is big and also designed. The kitchen is not very equipped.
If they had breakfast it would make the stay much better
We chose the hotel on line after a previously arranged get away did not work out.
We were very pleased with everything! We only wished we had brought our bathing suits with us to take advantager of the hot tup and pool.
