Everything was clean, and the service was very professional. There are plenty of room (it is a big hotel) and activities for children, my son enjoyed a lot of games from the staff and the playroom (which could have a little more disposable toys). The place and environment of the hotel is also excellent (lot of greens outside), comfortable and big rooms.
This beautiful colonial hotel features 2 rooftop pools, one is heated with a tub inside and the other one is with natural water.

The location was excellent; 2 very nice pools--the indoor one was heated and a pleasure. Small, minimalist gym. The hotel is a historic property with beautiful grounds on upper outside level.

The hotel, the staff, the breakfast and the location all deserve a 10! However, we had a communication problem when we checked out, which made for an unpleasant experience in the end. That's why I gave it an 8 and not a 10! However, the problem was quickly resolved by the receptionist in an efficient and pleasant manner.
Set in a 19th-century building, this charming hotel features beautiful colonial décor.

The Pousada is a family business and it felt like we were welcomed as part of the family. The room is very comfortable with a great bed and the breakfast that was included in the room was excellent. It was a buffet but you could request hot omelettes and hot croissants if you wanted them. The adjoining cafe where breakfast was served was delightful. Location can’t be beaten. It’s right in the centre of Ouro Preto.
One tip, take earplugs. This would apply to any Pousada in the centre of Ouro Preto as there is a lot of noise on the cobble streets from early in the morning.
In a restored colonial mansion, Hotel Luxor offers a taste of the 18th century, with rooms featuring a décor inspired in that era. They offer beautiful views of Ouro Preto´s churches.

Ouro Preto is a well-preserved historic site from the 17th century, with several churches from the Baroque period, decorated with elaborate wooden sculptures covered in thin layers of gold. However, the slippery, uneven road surface and steep access roads make travel undesirable for the elderly and people with mobility problems. It is also recommended to be in good shape to face steep streets.

It is a beautiful quaint town with good restaurants, beautiful churches and other points of interest. However, walking was a challenge as it is hilly with cobblestone or rock streets. With tennis shoes, or good walking shoes it is no problem. the people were very friendly and helpful.
We ate one night at Bene de Flat--excellent and the second night at the gastropub.very good and they played great music from the 70's.

Ouro Preto is a city of great historical value.
Ouro Preto is a city of great historical value. I've learned a lot about Brazil's history by a city tour in a "Jardineira". We walked around without any problem. The people are very friendly and good talking. Favorite spot is the "Museu da Inconfidencia" and "Igreja Nossa Senhora do Pillar", the first one built there and covered with gold interior. We visited also a deactivated mine with guidance, the guides explain a lot of the processes for mining gold at XVIII century there. Fun fact: a lot of brasilian slangs have the origin at there and at that time.

It is a very lovely old town with history and it is small.
It is a very lovely old town with history and it is small. There are a lot of churches to see. The town is on up and down hill and it takes a lot energy to walk in town. It is easy to go to Mariana by local bus, it takes about 20-30 minutes. There are many cars in the town, you should be aware when across the road.

Wonderful location with panorama view of town. We were not expecting, big surprise :D The breakfast was simple but filling. Nice quiet place for couples. Great wifi with open space to do work quietly. The staff and family running the hostel were very kind and accommodating. We would defintely come back next time in Ouro Preto :D
The staff were excellent. They really made us welcome and a couple of them spoke some English. The location is very convenient for a short walk (uphill) into town. It was also great that the hotel had a parking lot. The breakfast was very adequate with lots of choice.
A beautiful hotel with great service throughout the stay, incl. valet parking.
Excellent Breakfeast. Really good restaurant for dinner as well.
The wife tried the newly started Spa service and enjoyed it alot.
