La Vega is a nice place, a quiet town; you can walk around easily. There are plenty of restaurants and variety of food. You can go to laguna "El Tabacal"; it is a good spot to stay no more than two days.
Probably the best accommodation I've ever stayed in. Tropical House are three cabins with breathtaking view, the most friendly hosts you could imagine, great breakfast and the perfect, quiet escape just two hours outside of Bogotá. It's also close enough to the center of La Vega and has some restaurant options even closer than that. In one word: Paradise!
It's a family owned hotel who take good care of their facilities and guests. I went with my mother (78 years old) and they were extremely kind with her and took good care of her needs, including and awesome massage! They hotel is beautiful and very peaceful. Perfect to rest and recharge.
The staff was excellent! Breakfast was very good and the food was also good for lunch/dinner. Free Netflix and has other streaming apps. Has a nice jacuzzi that you can order for an extra pay. There is a picturesque river right next to the hotel.
