I suppose it had potential but ultimately failed to meet expectations. While the food was good overall, there were some significant issues (see below). Additionally, the portions were small considering the high prices. The location is pleasant, but don't expect to swim as the sea is very rough.

The views are incredible, over the Carribbean sea and surrounded by the mountains and trees. The food is good and the staff are all very friendly.
You can see all types of wildlife, especially birds, in the trees and landscape around the hostel.

Beautiful place, great service. Staff were always available and attend to our needs.
La Mar de Bien offers beachfront accommodations in Buritaca. The property features an outdoor pool. Guestrooms at this holiday home are luminous and feature wide windows overlooking the garden.
The hotel staff was welcoming and available - the kitchen even made us a meal that was not on the menu because we were sick. The common area and rooms were clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hotel has access to the beach, even though the sea current was dangerous during our stay. Breakfast was good and the menu offered a wide range of possibilities for both lunch and dinner. Tayrona park is only a ten-minute drive away and you can walk by the sea-side to either Buritaca or Valencia waterfalls.

When you enter you get an electronic bracelet and everything you order automatically gets added to your bill - we loved it, we felt like we were in an all-inclusive hotel (just we paid for everything at the end).
There are activities and tours you can book through the hostel, we did the tubing (they have twice a day) and it was cool.
