Young, helpful and super friendly staff! Nice and quiet location with a in-house restaurant (important in that region since there are not many opportunities to eat and the next supermarket is quite some kilometres away). Perfect stay for hikers and nature-lovers. Breakfast also very delicious with a lot to choose from. Thanks for the stay, love from Berlin <3
(Bonus: Local radio built into the bathroom, so you can shower with some local music hits haha :D)

Unusual hotel tucked away in a gorge. There's plenty of room to relax in the dining room and the bedroom was very cosy. Tea making facilities were available. Good area for walking and easy to get to with the railway station nearby.

The owner of the pension is extremely friendly. I had a lovely and cosy room with a terrace and from the place to the hiking trails is only a very short walk. The restaurant serves a great selection of local cuisine with excellent value for money.

Set in Hřensko, 20 km from Saxon Switzerland National Park, Hotel Garni Belveder offers accommodation with a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.
Super nette Mitarbeiter, tolle Lage, wir kommen gerne wieder
A great launching pad for walking in the area. Hřensko itself is fairly basic, but with a few decent restaurants serving local dishes.
Plenty of tat to buy on street stalls too if you want presumably knock-off Nike hoodies, watches where the hands fall off or a wide selection of butterfly knives.
It's a base for hiking, not a place you would visit in itself.
Access is easy by train and a 1 minute ferry trip across the Elbe. Schmilka is just 20 minutes walk away.

Hrensko is beautifully placed village, destroyed by selling stands with all kind of "garbage". I do understand that this is city on the border (CZ-DE) so "overboarder trade" is local business, however either those kind of stalls should be placed outside of the walking center (e.g. on the river bank on the way to the border), or it should be nicely designed, not to destroy the beauty of the village.
When you walk thru the center - you do not feel like you are in the picturesque mountain village, rather you feel like in a middle of bazaar.

That corner of Czechia has been described as the lowest point of the country in elevation, and also in taste. There are numerous shops, all run by Vietnamese, selling the same unbranded shirts, shoes, etc. Anything that was branded was of dubious authenticity. I was caught out a few times as credit cards are generally unknown and ATM's will charge CZK195 (!) per cash transaction. Don't expect a convenience store selling day-to-day items, as the shops I visited focussed mainly on bottled drinks, alcohol and cigarettes. However, the location is simply amazing.

The landscape is truly unique in this part of Europe. Despite some trails being closed because of recent forest fires, there was still plenty hiking. I can't remember my last trip when I went "wow!" multiple times a day. Four days is definitely not enough to take in the sheer beauty of this location. We were there in october and the autumn landscapes felt like living in a painting, superb!

The village itself is rather bleak (many closed hotels and restaurants make it so), but then I did not expect it to be the main point of my stay. It's the Bohemian Switzerland National Park that counts and Hřensko (especially the Mezní Louka part where I stayed) is a very convenient base for a walker like myself.

Bring your walking/hiking shoes and check the park schedule.
Bring your walking/hiking shoes and check the park schedule. We were here on closing weekend so it was very busy but we had a great time. We are not in great shale, the hike took us longer than the younger and more fit hikers but the scenery was beautiful and worth the sore legs the next day.

Located in the heart of Czech Switzerland this hotel allows access to multiple nature trails in the vicinity.
Comfy bungalow room, nice view with a personal terrace are nice to spend time during warm days.
Nice restaurant.
As of Spring 2023: For those, travelling for hikes: Be aware, that last year forest fire happened close by, large portion of the forest to the west of the hotel was burned down and is considered unsafe! Better go east!
I really like the hotel, staff and food. The hotel room was nice, clean and comfortable and quiet. The dinner and breakfast was really tasty and personal.staff was very kind and helpful.
I would appreciate a better orientation system in hotel and also some more cosy chair in the room.
Love the location, we were traveling to go for a hike and the hotel is right on the hike path.
I loved the restaurant, the food, and the fire stove, perfect when coming back from a hike with snow and having a garlic soup next to the fire when coming back
A very clean hotel with good facilities including parking. The family room was spacious. Parking available just ask at reception/the shop. It's very near some amazing natural places and near decin. Staff were friendly and helpful.
