One of Poland’s oldest cities and a birthplace of the Polish nation, Poznan is the capital city of the Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) region. Famous for international trade fairs, high quality shopping and popular festivals, this city is on the rise!
Its colourful medieval Old Town flourishes with dozens of bars, cafés and pubs open until the early hours of the morning. During warm days, you can sit in one of the pretty beer gardens and admire the architecture and the world going by.
For something different, enjoy Europe’s only steam-hauled passenger train and ride to Greater Poland National Park. Alternatively, visit the reconstructed brewery and indulge in shopping, as the Old Brewery is now one of the world’s best shopping malls.
Poznan lies halfway between Berlin and Warsaw and perfectly combines the old and the new, from Ostrow Tumski with its beautiful St. Peter’s and Paul’s Cathedral, to the glass and steel of Poznan International Fair and the city's skyscrapers.

A fantastic historic city with everything within walking distance. Really great non-touristy restaurants just to the west of the town centre in Jezyce . God guided walks , great cafes and bars. Do not miss the croissant museum it was the highlight of our trip.

An easy to explore city with a beautiful old town that has been completely pedestrianised. Be sure to try the amazing traditional food at the restaurant Wiejskie Jadlo - but go early or have a reservation, as its busy in the evening. It is super easy to walk the city - the cobblestone streets are well maintained and the sidewalks are wide. Great shopping and lots of restaurants and cafés to choose from.

Poznan is a great city to visit if you want to stay away from the crowds but still want a short city break! The Old Town Square is very charming, with cafes, restaurants and bars dotted everywhere and even on the side streets. It is a walkable city and you can get to most things within 20 mins if you are staying near the city centre.
I would recommend staying for a long weekend or make a stop in Poznan before going to another city like Krakow!

Beautiful place with picturesque Old Town which we absolutely loved and took so many pictures of, every corner you turn there's more beautiful colourful buildings to marvel at. Lovely Botanic Gardens to slow down in and Łazarz neighborhood with lots of fantastic cafes. Plac Kolegiacki is a great place to just chill with some ice cream or pastry and look at the beautiful surroundings. I'd also recommend visiting Imperial Castle, Stary Browar and Zamek Królewski (the last one being a great vantage point too). For a bit of history go to Ostrów Tumski where one can go to underground tombs and learn about the origins of the city). The city also offers retro tram tours and Maltanka train is a great experience as well!

Nice, cozy city with good restaurants, open spaces around, big lake nearby what is perfect if you're like running or other motion activities. City center with a classic European architecture, mostly clean, nice people around. Traffic jams are bit annoying but for the such big city it's acceptable
