Great service! We had the best experience in our room with the kitchenette , on the second floor, with a balcony. We absolutely recommend this hotel!

The bungalow, although small, had all we needed for a one night stop. Easy to park right outside the door. The staff were very helpful and on duty at reception all day.

We were a group of nine motorcycles. There was a large car park at the rear and we were not allowed to park. They’d allowed a coach to park plus another coach was allowed to park in the restricted designated area outside the hotel. It was a serious disruption to our group having to find roadside parking as near a possible to the hotel when they had an unoccupied car park other than the aforementioned coach. Not customer friendly.
Set in a Gothic-style property dating from the 15th century, the Saiaz Getaria Hotel is unique accommodation located in a beautiful area of the Basque Country.
A very nice, walkable, small town. A great beach with simple food/bar but also flysch rock formations. Several excellent hikes right from town center. A harbor and breakwater. Decent food and five minute drive from Getaria with fabulous grilled seafood both casual and Michelin class.

Good centre for visiting San Sebastian and walking in surrounding countryside. Great safe sandy beach with very nice
Restaurant and bar.
Was disappointed with the lack of restaurants open, no doubt this Is due to health restrictions due to virus.

Zumaia sits on the Camino del Norte and GR 121 walking...
Zumaia sits on the Camino del Norte and GR 121 walking routes. The coastal scenery to both sides of the estuary is stunning. The town itself is pleasantly situated on the west side of the estuary and is well served with restaurants and small bars serving the local 'pinxos'. This would make a very good central location for more extensive tours of the region while avoiding the bustle of either San Sebastian or Bilbao. The narrow gauge Euskotren rail network has regular and economically priced services along the coast. You can forget the car and 'let the train take the strain'.
We were very tired peregrinos, having recently stayed at a pleasant, but very squeezy and stuffy, inside room in a 2 star hotel in San Sebastian. The Zumaia Hotel had space, wide and comfortable beds, and plenty of light and access to fresh air. Huge contrast. Everything worked and was well cared for. Bar below was convenient, Eroski market almost next door. Wonderful! Breakfast excellent and quick delicious coffees. I would stay again.
We loved this place. The location can't be beat - a beautiful spot just 5 minutes from downtown Zumaia with all of its amenities. And the host Annili (may be spelled wrong) was outstanding. She made sure that we were comfortable, provided us tons of information on the area, and was available anytime we had a question or needed a dinner reservation.
Amazing chap at reception, we do not remember his name, but he is a genuine asset for the hotel. Thank you for the hospitality.
I saw a few negative comments about the breakfast but this was excellent with traditional Spanish item.
