Oviedo is a beautiful city to explore. We also did 2 one day excursions to see the stunning coastline and visit some of the smaller fishing villages. Well worth it. We always do lots of walking to make the most of the beautiful scenery.

Oviedo is a lovely little city with lots of restaurants and bars. Plenty to do for a weekend break. The cathedral is beautiful and worth a visit. It's the start of the Spanish camina. There was always something happening in the squares from bands to local dancers.

It was quite funny, really, We came to Oviedo for its history and for the three amazing early medieval churches. We had no idea of the tradition of cider-making - and drinking - and we were exceptionally lucky to find a hotel 5 minutes from the famous Calle Gascona, where we spent several very happy evenings and were fascinated by the tradition of el escanciado. Between the history and the nightlife we had a wonderful time.

We appreciated that we had three bedrooms to give us four travelers a bit more breathing room. We were confused about our apartment because it had no living room, but had a kitchen that we found less than clean, and then discovered that the kitchen wasn't part of the area we had reserved. We were instructed not to use it.
We did have great cleaning service each day. the locatin was also excellent for the exploring and sight seeing we did.

One of the most beautiful cities I have ever been.
One of the most beautiful cities I have ever been. Very alive city, everybody is out having fun! Nice restaurants and food everywhere. The city is very quiet and clean, this is impressive. The city center has nice old buildings and churches and big pedestrian areas. It is also one of safest cities I have ever been. Very close you can find beatiful villages and cities with big history and nice medieval old town like Aviles. Driving in Spain is safe and nice experience.

Great location, right in the heart of the old town. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable with modern fixtures, and surprisingly quiet for a good night's sleep. The host, Maria, is absolutely fantastic, incredibly responsive, welcoming, and helpful, and really makes you feel at home. Easily our best stay in spain so far.
Great location close to the cathedral and places to eat. Easy walk to start the camino which is what we were there for. Room had a fridge which is often not the case in Spain.
