As we were driving to another destination, this hotel, located in teh motorway, was a very good stop. The desk staff were very helpful and kind to give us some directions in what to see and where to park in Lugo (the hotel is sort of 10min drive from the city). The hotel has a restaurant and cafeteria, which is very handy if you don't want to drive to the city. As we didn't make our reservation with breakfast, and didn't want to pay extras 9,5€ per person, we order a simple one at the cafeteria and, despite the grumpy waiter, it was just what we needed. Our room was spacious, but it had a very boring decoration that could be easily improved.

L originalité du decor et la qualité de la cuisine
Stayed 2 days for Fiesta of patron saint. Bagpipe bands and costumes. 24/7 Eucharistic adoration in the cathedral for devout Catholics. Many tasty places for drinks and food. Intact Roman wall is impressive.

Great place.
Great place. Most of the museums are free and well thought out. Walk round the Roman Walls a must. Only problem is the same one that effects all of Galicia which is the public transport is poor and badly managed/organised.

Obviously you are not going to compare Lugo to Santiago, but anyway it's a pretty interesting city. Walking along the Roman Wall and enjoying the beautiful cathedral are of course the main attractions. Since my last time there (more than 10 years ago) I've noticed many small improvements: new pedestrian areas with some nice vegetalization efforts, the Roman bridge and surroundings. Part of my family comes from Lugo (the province), so I have an emotional connection with the area.

The old town within the walled city has plenty to explore. Lots of places to eat and drink. We went on an interesting walking tour which explained the history of the city.
We were only there a day as walking the Camino Primitivo but could easily have stayed longer.

The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes.
Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.

This was a lovely quirky hotel inside the city walls. My room was very spacious, with a huge bathroom. There was a lift, the room was well air conditioned, the furniture was lovely, bed comfortable with good linen. The reception had an excellent and very helpful attendant. We also used the hotel parking area, which was expensive, but given it was within the city walls was good value. Only a short stroll the the main restaurant area and attractions within Lugo. I would absolutely stay here again.
A beautiful brand-new apartment right in the center of Lugo. Very spacious with all comfort you need. The interior feels like a boutique hotel. The bathroom was just great, We were happy to use the washing machine. The reception was perfect. The lady was happy for us to take our race-bikes to the room, which is a great comfort on a long distance trip. Lugo was a great surprise and a don't-miss town on the Camino to Santiago. The apartment is ideally located. Quit but near the center.
The breakfast was good. But the best thing about the hotel was the restaurant. Superb top class food. Bear in mind its difficult to find a good restaurant in Spain (unless in big city): most are bars and cafes. Location was good- 15 min walk to the walled city part. Car park is part of the hotel (underneath) and you can pay as part of the bill - abut 16 E a night. Free parking on the road but it was a hire car so... Nice big room. Fridge with snacks and beverages.
This is a family run hotel, the owners are the nicest people and show they appreciate the buisness.
The room was Very clean and cool, there is a bar/restaurant down stairs and vending machines in the lobby.
I was also delighted to see they had parking for my motorcycle underground.
I will only stay here if and when I visit lugo again
Thanks for the lovely stay
Gorgeous hotel with very friendly staff. Just a shame there was some late night drilling (doing something with the elevator I believe) and whoever was staying above me made a lot of noise late into the night which really disturbed my sleep. Otherwise a great place to stay in a beautiful city.
