Honoured by Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, one of the holiest mosques in Islam, Medina is the 2nd most important Islamic pilgrimage site after Mecca. Surrounded by hills that have seen hundreds of people seek refuge in its oasis, this city has developed a range of modern facilities to host the pilgrims from all over the world.
Formerly named Yathrib, the city is also known as Madīnat an-Nabiy or ‘Prophet’s City’, and it’s also known as Al-Madīnat(u) 'l-Munawwarah or ‘Radiant City’. The Prophet Muhammad came to the city in the 7th century, seeking refuge from his opponents. According to Muslim theology, the last chapters of the Quran were revealed to him here.
The site where the Prophet lived is now occupied by the Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi or ‘Prophet’s Mosque’. Although the mosque has changed and expanded over the years, the green dome is part of the original sanctuary.
Places like the Masjid Quba mosque, the Masjid Al-Qiblatain mosque and the Al-Baqi Cemetery also represent important holy sites in Medina.
Whether you arrive directly at Medina’s Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport or come from Mecca or Riyadh, check out the accommodation deals on Booking.com before travelling.

After Mecca, it is the second city in the world that I had the great pleasure to visit. If you are a Muslim and you love your Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), you should definitely visit it. The most beautiful place in this city is Masjid Nabawi. It is possible to find all the cuisines of the world here at affordable prices. The city is extremely clean and safe. You can walk around the streets safely for 24 hours. It is possible to go wherever you want by any means of transport and the prices are extremely affordable. The people of the city are always generous and generous. You will encounter free cold water, various dates, tea and coffee at every corner.

Thhe Rawdah Mubarak service through the App Nusuk was very disappointing. They still need to improve the service as 30 minutes to enter and complete prayer was unsatisfying. The entry and exit was too short with no time to reach the vital spots within riaz al Jannah and the staff was too rude/misbehaving and simply not allowing to offer two rakats in peace.

Stayed in Saja Al Madinah hotel between 26th and 29th April 2023 with my family. Overall, we did not like the hotel except the location is very near to Masjid Al Nabawi (3-4 mins walk to Gate no. 328) and the breakfast served was quiet good.
Pros:
1. Location close to Gate no. 328 of Masjid Al Nabawi. This gate is quiet far from Rawdah area so one has to walk for atleast 8-10 mins to reach the Rawdah area
2. Good breakfast with lot of options
3. Small grocery markets, pharmacy are nearby
Perfect location to visit Al masjid an-Nabawi, literally couple of minutes walk. The hotel is beautiful and we got a family room which was exceptional in size and modern. Attentive staff and really helpful with booking taxi back to airport or around the city etc. plenty of local shops to visit many things in walking distance… amazing stay in Al Madinah.
The location was perfect, right infront of the prophets mosque. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Saudi Arabia.
The room is a bit small but very clean and staff are very helpful. Only thing is i donot recommend the cafe downstairs, try to opt for the buffet instead. Also try ordering local cuisines as theyre better at making those.
I would like to highlight the maintenence of room was not proper. Toilet was stinking, Kept the exhaust fan switch on of all night and then the smell reduced. I had been to another hotel in Madina but this hotel Anwar Al Madina was bad choice even after paying extra or more amount compare to other hotels.
