Location was perfect for me as it was right across the harbour where the cruise ships and havila stop. I arrived at 22:40 in the evening there was staff at the reception constantly. Very friendly people. My room had a balcony and mini fridge. There was also an ironing board in a closet. Nice big bed in the room. From the bed you saw whatever cruise ship was docked at the moment or the water. Depending on your feelings this can be a good or bad thing. Molde isn't a big place but the location is very central. A good breakfast buffet that is served by the restaurant next door (you don't have to go outside to get there). You could hear people entering their rooms from the hallway etc, but you couldn't hear them when they were in their room so the noise insulation was good (at least in my room)

A lovely hotel in the centre of Molde where even though the building may be old, the rooms are pretty up to date with large flatscreen TV etc. Lady at the check in was also friendly and helpful.
Breakfast had a very good spread of items, usually when I think of breakfasts at European hotels of such standard, it is a limited Continental selection. Here there is a waffle station, numerous juices, various breads & bakes and some hot items.
We enjoyed the complimentary hot drinks available from the machine at the reception too.

The house is nicely decorated, there were all the necessary - dishes, a kettle, a microwave oven, a fridge, towels and bed linen, TV and a heater, a soft carpet on the floor. We stayed for a longer time and I was pleasantly surprised that during this time the bed linen and towels were changed 2 times, as well as the cabin was cleaned and organized. Very good shower. Grocery stores are 10 minute walk away, the center is about 4 km away, along the way there are a beautiful views of the Molde panoramic mountains.

Molde is at the western coast of Norway. There is plenty of rainy weather, but when the sun shines, there is hardly a better place to visit. The stunning beauty of the mountains across the fiord is absolutely magnificent.
There are nice hotels, but the prices are quite high to be a city of the size of less than 30K citizens. Maybe the cost-level reflects the history of tourism when the royal families from different nations of Europe frequented this part of Norway.
You will find friendly staff at all places, but you could also pop into those who might take you as a visitor for granted. Maybe if you smile, you could get somebody smiling back to you.

A beautiful city in Norway.
A beautiful city in Norway. We drove around all the small towns and did the 'James Bond' spectacular Atlantic Road drive. It was worth driving from Bergen and taking magnificent pictures along the way.
Receptionist was welcoming and helpful. Directed me to the free public parking which is right next door to the hotel. There is unloading space in front of the hotel where you can park temporarily if you need to go in and check exactly where it is.
Room was fantastic, especially for the price (not sure if I was upgraded but had a 'business' room with sofa and chairs, balcony and view over the harbour). Breakfast was excellent, plenty of hot and cold choices.
A welcoming lovely private home and very kind hosts who can speak English.
Very quiet place and neighbourhood by the city centre. Cheap prices for Norway.
Everything was clean and well maintained.
Fantastic views over the fjord and mountains.
Lots of green gardens and nature around.
Supermarkets 5 minutes away.
And much more for those who have the time to explore the city and the region.
I definitely recommend this place.
Interesting building with a stunning view (booked a room with balcony which was definitely worth the extra money). Superb breakfast with a lot of variety. Great coffee. Fast elevator. Within walking distance to the centre of Molde.
