The cathedral was a few minutes away and so was a lovely pub - I think it was called The George but it if you turn left when you exit the hotel you will see it on the same side as the hotel. Great pub with yummy bar snacks including a wide range of pasties that are served warm up until closing :)

Lichfield was a lovely place to visit - Our top places to visit included the Lichfield Cathedral (15min walk) the National Memorial ARBORETUM ( 15 minute taxi journey). Would have loved to have stayed longer in the area and seen more.

The cathedral is magnificent, and highly recommended. It’s worth a trip to the town on its own. The nearby National Memorial Arboretum is a must-visit place; superb! If you would like a special treat, a dining experience at Upstairs by Tom Shepherd is amazing.

    Interesting town.

Interesting town. I particularly liked visit to the cathedral and surrounding area. Numerous quirky shops and interesting town center. Easy access and plenty of eating places within a short walk. Enjoyable visit.

Nice town with your usual run of the mill shops!

Nice town with your usual run of the mill shops! (And a cathedral) You will need a car or book transport to get around for days out. Lichfield, from my 2 night stay (and from what i could see), is a good base.

What a lovely surprise Lichfield was!

What a lovely surprise Lichfield was! It’s only 23 miles down the road from us and we had never been. A lovely historic city with a stunning cathedral and lots of lovely old pubs to work your way through! There is a lovely atmosphere about the place, with well kept park areas adjoining the city centre to walk or just sit and watch the world go by with a large Minster pool to walk around. The locals were friendly, it was surprisingly free of litter and graffiti We would deffinately go back there for a day out as opposed to spending a day in our own town

This is a beautiful guest house in the centre of Lichfield. I was in the stables across the courtyard in a single room. Gorgeous carved wooden sleigh bed with the roof window right above so you could lie in bed and see the stars. Good sized bathroom with walk-in shower. The room was well equipped with coffee machine, kettle, bathrobe and fridge. Water was provided in the fridge. Breakfast was delicious. All the staff were really lovely and helpful. I would definitely return if in the area again.

We liked the quiet location not far from Waitrose and the city centre, the understanding and willingness of the hosts to provide a late checkout, the light and airy nature of the flat and the heating, which sadly was needed at times despite being July!
