I had an unforgettable stay at Wood Hotel in Bodø! The breakfast was a highlight—especially the delicious homemade hot cocoa. The hotel's pool, sauna, and fitness facilities are top-notch, and I was even lucky enough to see the Northern Lights during my evening swim. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make me feel at home.

I was here only one day and unfortunately during bad weather (not terrible rain, but very windy) but I still walked through the whole city and wish I had more time to go to the surrounding beaches and hiking trails. I had a great and affordable meal at tiger sushi - vegan sushi was available, and they also had a huge and impressive buffet for meat eaters!

The cosmopolitan atmosphere of this beautiful city on the North coast of Norway makes Bodø a must-see place. Located in the Arctic Circle, Bodø offers a great atmosphere of small-town living, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, hiking, as well as concerts, shopping, and fine dining. Bodø Concert Hall, street shops, fine restaurants, and regular ferries to the Lofoten archipelago are some of the many local attractions available to visitors. The airport is located within 10-minute walk from the city center!

Bodo was a great place with loads to do.
Bodo was a great place with loads to do. Unfortunately we couldn’t spend enough time but whatever little we spent- we explored the town in the night especially with the full daylight. In the morning we managed to complete the Keiservarden hike as well. Would have loved to spend more time and do the Salten area. Hopefully next time

We were in Bodo for just two nights and didn't wish to rush around, so we enjoyed exploring the waterfront and harbour area, watching the boats and taking in some of the restaurants and bars there. We arrived by train and left by plane - it was just great to be able to walk to the airport, which is close to the centre of the town yet we weren't disturbed by any noise from it during our stay.

Bodø is a charming, very walkable city where lots has been done to make streets accessible for pedestrians and cyclists. The city center (~ from the inner harbor to around Bankgata) is small, with a nice mix of new and traditional architecture and building styles. The streets have trees and wide sidewalks. The main shopping street, Storgata, is very nice and has a wide variety of shops that culminate in the Glashuset interior shopping area with the Koch Shopping Center attached.
I can recommend Nyholmen fort as a nice picnic spot with great view of the city - it's easy to reach it by bicycle. Also recommend the Jektefartsmuseum, which is about 4 km away from the city center.
On my next visit, I would stay a day or so longer and maybe get a rental car one or two days, to be able to go to Kjerringøy. But would also rent a bike again, as well, since getting around Bodø on bike is super easy.

The seashore is packed with huge hotels and other building plus boats thus have to go out of the city to enjoy the senery.
I believe most of the visitors use Bodo as transfer point to Lofoten.
City is clean and has all the necessary services available. Airport just a few minutes from the center.

Breakfast offering was one of the best I've seen, complete with freshly made omelettes and pancakes. Everything was tasty and lovely.
The hotel was located in an area that was quiet enough, yet it was not far to walk to the harbour or to the mall at the center of Bodø. The common lounge area was nice and roomy. The service personnel were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is close to ferry terminal, which is important for us to wait in line for the early ferry. The hotel itself has perfect location, near sea and have modern decoration and good restaurant. However since we request room to be close to each other, we did not get the full sea view rooms
The hotel is located very close to the ferry harbor, which is extremely handy when you need to take an early ferry. Self-check in and self-check-out are possible, which is also very accomodating when you arrive late by ferry/have to take an early ferry. The keycards are really pretty.
The hotel was ideal for a stopover on the way to Moskenes. Reachable on the bus from the airport and within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The staff were super friendly and it was very clean and quiet. The bar had great views too.
