It has beatifull lanscape and fresh air. first time i see there I planned to run Kazbegi trail runing in the mountains around this city and the view encouraged me to come for second time, so i came to enjoy the weekend. if i can i will go there again...

There are not so many sights in the town but the natural...
There are not so many sights in the town but the natural landscapes around it are fantastic. In the town, visit the old church and the local history museum nearby (it was closed for renovation during my visit). Also, I recommend visiting the Gergeti church on the top of the hill. You can walk there by trail (around one hour of walking, elevation gain - 400 meters) or take a taxi at the central square.
For dining, my recommendation is the restaurant in the Alpine Lounge hotel.

Stepantsminda is a beautiful place with tall mountains and beautiful view . Food is great too. However transport is really dangerous driving and the drivers do not listen to suggestions either. Better to get there with your own car.

It is really beautiful. You must come when the weather is good. The air is good and suitable for relaxing. The eyes are full of green. I can see the sun shining on the snow-capped mountains. I will come again next time!🥹☺️😆

Must visit place in Georgia. Small town where one can see Nature at it's best - very scenic with super climate. The lush green caucasus mountain ranges look majestic with some peaks having snow even during summer. A perfect place for a refreshing break of minimum 2 nights...!!

Dońt expect a picturesque mountain village like in Switzerland or Austria.
It is a wild mixture of everything.
The Military Highway runs through the town, trucks from Russia, Turkey Armenia etc.
So you want to stay further away.
The mountain scenery is breathtaking. No snow capped mountains, but steep slopes, often bare of forest.

Darchi is a newly built hotel on the south side of Stepansminda. We had one of the large rooms with mountain view towards the southern slopes of Mt Kuro (not Mt.Kazbegi if that matters to you). The room was clean and light and had basic amenities like a water cooker. Breakfast was served to the table in a spacious restaurant downstairs and had decent variability (we stayed there for a whole week!) The staff try their best with English although you'd be better off speaking Georgian or Russian.
This is our second time at rooms hotel and its the best hotel in the area in terms of unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains. The breakfast spread is amazing but other meals are similar to what you would get in restaurants/hotels in the surrounding area. Has a lovely pool and sauna/gym which is an added bonus.
Our best accommodation in Georgia so far. Stunning view of Mt Kazbegi from front verandah and great view out the back. Big, spotless rooms. Fabulous kitchen and washing machine to use. Lovely female owner and daughter. Perfect location; easy walk to town. Can't recommend highly enough.

The hotel is very big, bright and new with it's beautiful views. The restaurant was excellent: various dishes, tasty Georgian wine. Staff was very friendly and they helped me to find many beautiful places in Kazbegi. I'll come back someday.
