Everithing was perfect. The host was always reachable by phone for any need. I requested if an early check in was possible and they accepted my request. Furthermore, one morning I needed the room cleaning service after the normal time slot, and I was accommodated. Excellent cleaning. Perfect position in the center of Hangra do Heroismo.

It's a kind of hotels that wants to have a cool style, but it confuses a concept of a good service as a boutique hotel with a hostel or youth hostel. The staff is young and very friendly but seems to me, (certainly through no fault of their own), to be scarce and ill-prepared for a good quality of service: the young receptionist had to be at her work place at the same time she should supporting the guests in the breakfast room, where no one was for help or check the service. My expectations were very good about this hotel because although I have know practically all in Angra do Heroísmo, that's why I want to try a new one: it is very new (opened last spring), very well located and accessible, but it is a little noisy, naturally because it has a bar and Mexican food restaurant, always crowd by young people. This is good, but.... Unfortunately we stayed in the suite on the first floor and we were woken up on Saturday morning at 9am by the very loud and shocking noise of a drill. The noise continued during the morning even after breakfast and after I complained. It doesn't seem very sensible, no matter how urgent it is to wake up the guests with repairs at the hotel, at saturday morning You should save it for later.....

Angra is a small town on a small island. We were there with a hiking guide who also showed us around the town. It is a very safe location and the weather in the middle of October was perfect for hiking (19-24 C). We stayed at a different hotel as part of the inclusive hiking tour and then booked into Hotel Monte Brasil at short notice when our flight home was cancelled due to high winds (this does seem to happen at times in The Azores).

Great city for those interested in history.
Great city for those interested in history. Very walkable city but you should wear comfortable shoes as the cobblestones can be felt through thin soles. The ocean views and buildings are beautiful. Take a city tour and the tour at the army museum to learn about the fascinating history of Angra and Terceira. Indulge in all the wonderful pastries at the many cafes!

Angra do Heroísmo, and the entire island, is an...
Angra do Heroísmo, and the entire island, is an extraordinary destination that has managed to preserve its unique character and charm. Unlike many other tourist spots, this city is refreshingly untouched by globalism and large hotel chains, allowing local entrepreneurs and craftsmen to shine. The city offers a genuine sense of community, where you can truly feel like a part of the local life.
The people here are incredibly friendly, and while the food is delicious, it's essential to choose the right restaurants to fully enjoy the culinary experience. The city is quiet, not overcrowded, and wonderfully affordable—lunch menus, including soup, range from just €7.5 to €8.5, which is a refreshing change from the inflated prices of more commercialized tourist destinations.
Angra do Heroísmo is exceptionally clean and picturesque, with stunning views of charming cottages, complete with traditional small fences and roads, which are protected as local heritage. This adds to the city’s quaint and timeless atmosphere.

Absolutely beautiful place and overall island to visit.
Absolutely beautiful place and overall island to visit. If you love nature, amazing sceneries and lovely food this is the next destination you have to try out. From swimming with dolphins to whale watching to visiting a volcano you can do everything here and make unforgettable memories. Very easy to get around without the need of a car. Restaurants are very good, specially “Quinta das Tias”. And for a very beautiful scenic view of the town you definitely have to climb “Monte do Brasil”, you won’t regret it!

A nice town but the UNESCO stamp comes at a price.
A nice town but the UNESCO stamp comes at a price. Very touristic. There is no way of getting a dinner without booking. We found out the hard way on our day of arrival. Look for Sala319 restaurant which saved us from a hungry night and the food was great at reasonable prices. We never bothered looking for another restaurant after our lucky first visit when in Angra.

A beautiful old town. Very quaint.
A beautiful old town. Very quaint. Lots of beautiful buildings, churches and museums. The restaurants are good. Be prepared to walk the steep hills on narrow cobblestone sidewalks. This town is not for the handicapped or folks with mobility problems.
Beware of the super high humidity which combined with high temperature makes July and August very very uncomfortable.
Best time to visit is the month of May.

Nice and cozy hotel. Nice hosts, always helpful. They offer cloth washing services for 4 euros. Nice location (but need a car), parking nearby by the church. Overall great place, would reccommend.
