We spent three nights at De Zanding and spent New Year's Eve there. We were one of the few who arrived there without our own car, so perhaps the review will be a bit specific. Actually - the first plus is the accessibility of arriving by public transportation. The stop of the 105th bus is right next to the recreation center. 25 minutes from the station Arnhem and you are there. The territory is large, beautifully decorated, check-in was without problems. We received a package with keys right at the bridge. Please note that when ordering a set of linen, it does not include towels (but there is a separate towel package for an extra charge), so take them with you if you need them. Enjoyed the free and fast internet in the house. The house was warm, you can always adjust the comfortable temperature yourself. The staff was friendly and always willing to help.
A huge plus (especially in rainy weather) is the pool and wellness area with 4 excellent saunas. Private wellness access must be booked for an extra fee in advance on the De Zanding website. The price is affordable. There is access to the pool from the wellness area.

Location is fantastic. The place itself is very well taken care off. Everything you need is there. The outdoor patio was lovely as well as the huge picnic table outside to have dinner and breakfast. Even on rainy days you could comfortably sit outside on the patio and also at the big dining table indoors. Bedrooms and beds were super comfortable and kitchen and bathroom facilities were great. Having two bedrooms on floor level close to the washroom was great for anyone who has difficulty with steep stairs. It's a fabulous place for max. 7 people. We would go back there!

We loved the cottage, it was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Coby was a great host, she was easy to communicate with and gave us lots of ideas for restaurants, places to visit. The location was perfect for visiting the Kroller Muller Museum. Hotel location is perfect for visiting the Kröller-Müller Museum and bike ride in National park, which is very beautiful. The hotel is very comfortable with excellent spa (sauna, steam-room, pool...). Breakfast is very good an affordable. Restaurant is excellent but you have to pre-book regular dinner ahead of time - it was fully booked when we were staying and we had dinners in bar area, comfortable but less fancy.

A visit to the the Kroller Muller Museum in Otterlo is...
A visit to the the Kroller Muller Museum in Otterlo is highly recommended! Aside from a great collection of fine art, there are also beautiful sculptures scattered around the huge property grounds. Its a very beautiful place both outside and inside. This is a must visit when going to the Netherlands.

Otterlo - being one of the entrances into the Hoge Veluwe...
Otterlo - being one of the entrances into the Hoge Veluwe National Park is exactly what you would expect from a town with about 2000 inhabitants. It has everything you would expect: A well-stocked super market, a few other shops, a handful of restaurants. While it is served with bi-hourly buses from nearby NS stops Ede, Arnhem and Barneveld, if you go anywhere Hoge Veluwe you will need a car.

We went to the museum and on forest walks - the 'otterlose bos - jeneverbessenbos ' walk is really lovely. Otterlo & its shops is closed on a sunday, so come prepared. Overall very friendly & beautiful surroundings

The location is amazingly good, in the woods away from through traffic and just by the open boundry of the Hoge Veluwe. 10/10 for location. The Lodge(Hotel) has a pleasant appearance and is well maintained. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very comfortable on the ground floor. We had dinner there several nights and it was always well prepared and presented. Breakfast was always good with a great choice of both hot or buffet food. We feel that we have discovered a gem that we will want to visit again.
It's a surprisingly modern holiday home: Both the kitchen equipment as well as the furniture and general look are up to an apartment in the city It's quiet in a good way (mostly - a bit of garden work was going on during my stay), and a short walk from Otterlo itself!
I really liked the proximity to the Hoge Veluwe Park. You could really go by walk if you want to. The town is nice and quiet. The hotel is nice and is a good value for the price.
