My stay at Dolkhar Resort was memorable, offering a blend of luxury and local charm. The villa I stayed in was spacious and beautifully incorporated Ladakhi influences, making the experience feel authentic and connected to the region. The food at Tsas restaurant was exceptional, creatively blending Ladakhi culinary influences, and the cocktails at the Terrace Bar were nothing short of superb, skillfully crafted with local ingredients. The resort’s sauna provided a nice, relaxing experience, and I also enjoyed a peaceful and rejuvenating yoga session. The front desk staff stood out for their excellent service, always pleasant and prompt, efficiently fulfilling every request I had. The resort’s lovely orchard and garden, dotted with apricot trees and frequented by birds like the Eurasian Magpie, created a serene environment that was a pleasure to explore. Additionally, Dolkhar’s location is ideal, being close to the popular attractions of Leh, making it convenient to explore the area. The day trek organized by the resort was enjoyable well-planned. Overall, I found the stay to offer great value for money.

Beautiful monasteries and the town is cleaner the other Indian places. The Laddakhi people are honest, quiet, and not pushy with customers. All in all, a breath of fresh air from the filth and madness that characterizes much of the country.

I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know my way around Leh.
I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know my way around Leh. There is, pretty much, everything you might need from clothing to medicine, souvenirs, and even oxygen and gas cannisters!
The wide cultural variety was always in full view.
Don't forget that altitude and illness can affect your appreciation of the region, as I discovered. From sea-level to 1100ft in one heave needs to be taken seriously!

Hot and dry.. expensive and not so good food.
Hot and dry.. expensive and not so good food. Taxi union charge more than the appropriate charge for the tour. Poor bus connectivity. Pangong is nice. Diskit and hunder was fine. I would recommend going to pangong, for me Himachal is a better option.
It a cosy property with a family like staff who cares about your concerns :) . I had a pleasant stay at the maple house during the last two days of my Ladakh trip . The owner personally helped me find apricot juices delicacies which I am really grateful for . I was like a deer in the headlights for this one haha . Neither the less it’s very close to the airport , so they do have a pick up and drop off facility present . The rooms are as depicted in the photos . Overall , a really nice place to stay :D
My stay was fantastic! I travelled around Ladakh for a whole month and the Thangkop House was by far the best! The family is incredibly hospitable and makes you feel at home. The rooms are nice and the beds are very comfortable. It also has a very nice garden where you can relax. The breakfast is also great and always freshly prepared. I will definitely come back. Greetings, Aldo

Recommend.
Must stay if you are a solo traveller or with friends. You'll never regret it.
After a 6-day motorbike tour through the Ladakhi countryside it was nice to be in a proper 5-star hotel. Rooms are spacious, clean with a comfortable bed. Showers with hot running water. Well situation and only a few minutes away from Leh's main market street.
