Chandigarh for weekend trips from Delhi NCR is a great place to visit or stopover for an onward journey further. Shopping sectors 17 and 22 are decent, restaurants like Old Pal Dhaba (overrated or not), Noorani, and Kanel Cafe are great; Sukhna Lake promenade walk is also nice during winter evenings. The highway between NCR and Chandigarh is decent overall but the vehicle population and traffic diversions are increasing daily.

No service man visited the room for cleaning the bathroom or to collect the dirty dishes ( for tea and coffee)

Well laid out town.
Well laid out town. Ofcourse with unexpected traffic jams especially around the famed lecorbusier circles. Increasing driving time. Hotels like Ramada zirakpur should be made a primary choice because it’s marginally more expensive but has good ambiance that of a higher star hotel.

The Chandigarh railway station is very badly managed .
The Chandigarh railway station is very badly managed . To begin with , parking is very badly managed . Secondly , With the construction all around , there is hardly any space to sit on PF2 and 3 . It’s too much crowded . At the time of Vande Bharat arrival on PF2 , it was stampede situation which was averted by the understanding of passengers . At the time of Ekta express , the crowd was boarding from PF2 as well as from the tracks . How the hell such thing is allowed in a city like Chandigarh . It was terrible and Chandigarh management should be ashamed of what they are doing .

Location was perfect to explore Shimla, Chandigarh, Patiala and Ludhiana.
There was a good selection and variety of food at both
breakfast and buffet dinner. Dining using their menu was also very good.
The Elante mall next door had all the brand outlets yoy would expect with a food hall and restaurants that cater for your every need.
It’s a great stop of whether going to tha capital Delhi or further north to Amritsar and the hill stations.
