Such a beautiful location. Great credit to our hosts for transforming the buildings and the gardens into a wonderfully peaceful retreat. Delicious and varied food available for breakfast. Great conversation with our hosts and we loved wandering in the garden and admiring the trees, flowers and vegetables. We visited the horses and the chickens too!

The host was very accommodating and helpful. The great communication was definitely a plus during the stay. Although the place was located right in the city centre, it was very quiet. Last but not least, the building is so beautiful!

The owner communicated with us proactively and very warmly. The kindness radiated and the detail was helpful so we knew what to expect on arrival. We could park directly outside to unload and then moved the car to a free car park opposite the building (less than 1 min walk). It felt quiet and safe to leave the car there. A key box was waiting for us and the instructions were clear. We walked 5 mins into the village to find a very nice Asian restaurant who was open until 10pm and despite their sign kindly allowed us to bring our little dog inside. Then stopped for a beer at a friendly corner pub to watch the world go by. The room was modern and newly renovated in an old monastery building. The beds and decor were simple but very comfortable. We had chosen 5 single beds in one room which we got. We had a shower room. The shower was spacious and powerful. She had kindly left shampoo/conditioner, soap and towels. The linen, pillows and mattresses seemed new and in great condition. I had the best night sleep I’ve had in a month here. 🫶The energy in this building is beautiful. A lovely breakfast room was available with a nicely decorated room and wonderful spread of breads/pastries etc. We hadn’t opted for breakfast but kinda wished we had after seeing the lovely atmosphere and huge monastery range feature in the decoration of the breakfast room. Even so we had a wonderful chat with our hostess over a coffee and set off relaxed, hearts full for our onward journey. This place is not just a business for this lovely lady. She clearly has a heart to make holiday makers feel at home and cared for. Thank-you.

It is ok to visit St Niklaas for 1 day as it is small town. It is good in combination with the visit to Antwerp. There are few historical sights. The restaurants usually close at 22.00 so make sure that you go to eat on time.

Sint Niklaas is wonderful to those like us who like to walk around and discover great Art Deco houses from the 30s and find wonderful places where we can eat great food. All in short walking distance. We went to a great concert of New York band The Lucky Chops in De Casino. Unfortunately, we didn't find a record shop in the city centre. I think there is none. We recommend going to nearby Gent for this. Quite exquisite holiday if you plan to visit both cities!

Good location, we used the hotel as a stopover on our way to Holland. Public car park is opposite so parking is easy, The only negative is the noise levels, people leaving early/late are very audible. Otherwise a nice hotel.

in itself is saint klaas and beautiful city, the big market and everything around it, but go 3 blocks away it is dirty, on the street, many dirty buildings, bit of shame, one can clean it up, nice shops and restaurants, certainly De Graanmaat is very good

The location (right next to the train station and close to the centre), the fact that the hotel is open 24/7 with your room key card, the fact that there was a bath instead of a shower, and the wifi was decent. The staff was also very friendly. Two pillows for the bed, curtains thick enough to hide the lights from the street. I was also pleasantly surprised that the trains weren't that loud, like yeah you can hear them but not to the point of baring you from sleeping.

The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. It was very quiet and peaceful. The hotel is in a great location, on a beautiful, central street. The service was very friendly and attentive - with the very kind owner/host providing a delicious, personalised breakfast each morning. I highly recommend this gem of a hotel!
