It had a nice oldtown with good restaurants and shopping.
It had a nice oldtown with good restaurants and shopping. The main plaza was nice too. Had some of the best coconut jumbo shrimp of my life. There is a newer hotel area to the East of Hwy 1 which looked very nice with great beaches. I would stay in that area next time.

It took me 2 hours to find this place. Asking several local people and even two police officers: No one had every heard about it in this small town.
I would not call it a hotel. Small room, no water, or a coffee maker, and the shower looked so disgusting that I even skipped it. My window (1 pane) was directly next to a highway and at 5 am I was awoken. The only good thing was that the Internet worked.
When I checked in totally exhausted from the search at 6 pm, I had to pay, without showing me the amount and once I realized that I did not even got a receipt for the amount and went back to the "reception" it was closed for the night. The next morning I asked for my receipt, I got the answer that they don't have a receipt block, anyway, I will get my receipt online, they never give paper receipts. A week later, no receipt online ... If it doesn't come, I will ask my friend a lawyer, to report them to the authorities, and also to the tourism office.
Avoid this place under all circumstances! They are dishonest.

It is a real Mexican town but the rush hour traffic can get very bad. I felt safe walking around in the daytime and also nighttime near the hotel which is in a true Mexican neighborhood. I have lived in Mexico for 8 years so I am well acquainted to it. I stayed well away from the touristy areas as they do not interest me. I ate at a Mandarin Chinese restaurant and at a Los Claros, Jr. seafood restaurant. There are quite a few Los Claros in La Paz so I have had their delicious food many times. A car is pretty much needed as it is quite a long ways from one end of the town to the other. Many grocery stores.... both large and small everywhere.

Great find right in old town.
Great find right in old town. Loud when music and shows happening in the plaza, but that's the beauty of the location! Erikka was super nice and helpful at the desk. The room was perfect, with access to nice patio and the easy under cover parking was fantastic!

Always wanted to visit and it didn't disappoint.
Always wanted to visit and it didn't disappoint. We choose to stay at Villa la Valencia and we also booked the all inclusive meal plan, definitely worth it and it paid for itself by lunch typically.
The resort, was luxurious and well appointed to the give every guest a view. The staff were attentive and friendly, the food was outstanding. We didn't really enjoy Cabo San Lucas, a bit of a reality check for Australians, but we went to the Arch and snorkelled in Santa Maria Bay.
We visited Metate, cannot recommend this restaurant enough, it was a great experience, the food, service was simply outstanding. The waiter brought out rattlesnake Mescal for our pleasure at the end of the meal, what an experience for us all. Just can't wait to get back there we were planning before we even left.
The only downside for us was the way many of the guests spoke to the staff, it was supposed to be endearing but it was quite degoratory and many of the staff were cringing. Some basic manners wouldn't go astray.
You cannot swim at the beach in front of the Hotel, but you can ride horses on the beach and stroll along it, enjoying the sunsets and sunrises.

Do not get sucked into time share conversation upon arrival at airport. They will waste your time and not follow through on promised rewards.
Town of Cabo is small and seems rough, but is safe.
Highly recommend some type of boat cruise.
Talk to your hotel concierge about what to do and they will help you book your excursions with reputable businesses.

The location of Casa Costa Azul was perfect for our needs - ON the beach; private room, a walk to some small restaurants/bars. For someone who likes to walk, it was a 10-15 min walk to the hotel/resort zone where more restaurants and shops were available. Every morning, a delicious homemade breakfast of local fare. This hotel is a GEM if you are looking to stay in a quiet, private place right on the beach. Friendly, clean, a fantastic find.
Basic and decent hotel right near the airport with free shuttle service. Carpets in the rooms make it look and feel a little dirty but otherwise clean and comfortable. They accommodated us with a pack and lay for our 1 year old and served a nice breakfast in the morning.
My room was comfortable and clean. Some nice seating areas in the communal areas. The owner was extremely helpful. Excellent location for the Art Walk and exploring the Down Town area of San Jose del Cabo.
