Beautiful little town right on the ocean.
Beautiful little town right on the ocean. Marina Bay Eatery is a great restaurant--best food we had in all of our travels in New Zealand. Book the Cave Cruise for a wonderful 2.5 hours in an interesting, appealing Bay. Take the ferry right across the harbor and walk up to the overlook on Shakespeare Cliff.

beautiful place.
beautiful place.
Hahei beach and hot water beach are the spots to visit nearby.
the charges for the water taxi to Cathedral cove is pretty expensive. NZD80 per head seems expensive for a merely 15 min boat ride

We only had two nights at lovely Whitianga.
We only had two nights at lovely Whitianga. It's a great place to visit even though the winding roads were a bit harrowing at times for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the Glass Bottom Boat trip to Cathedral Cove with Kate as our Skipper and also 2 hours at the Lost Springs was a treat. Definately worth doing both excursions. Whitianga is a lovely place to visit for sure. Mercury Bay is beautiful

The accommodation was great and actually exceeded expectations. I was a best man at a wedding and the only non family member going. So, I needed a versatile accommodation on a budget. The living room was a converted garage which was elegant and kooky which now can see why the price is down the cheaper end. The rooms are great and bathrooms clean.
The hosts / owners of the property were awesome and such a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome and at home.
Beautifully appointed room and meticulous attention to detail.
Breakfast was as good as any 5* hotel.
The property is perfectly located for a stay in Whitianga with great ocean views.
Debbie and Ernst are great hosts who had lovely and special ideas such as the private bathtub in the rainforest and lots of different trails to discover. Felt like adventure holiday with luxury feautures. Thank you so much- we would love to come back someday.
