Stayed in the hotel a number of times and always welcomed by its friendly staff. Opposite the train station and close to the Loire long-distance cycle routes the hotel has secure covered storage for bicycles. Location was excellent, staff very helpful, great breakfast
We arrived on a Saturday evening in November. Good shopping facilities nearby and if we had been there earlier in the Autumn, there would have been lots of places of interest open to visit. Chateau de Breze, did state on it's literature, that dogs were allowed. We drove there to see it, only to find a notice in English, by the door by the Reception, saying all dogs must be carried inside the Chateau ( unless visitors have a very tiny dog, this basically rules out a 2 hour visit, so the information needs to be updated please, otherwise, people may be driving a long way to visit, only to find they cannot go in) We only stayed in this area on Saturday and Sunday night, so just had a nice relaxing rest in the Studio where we stayed, Domaine equestre de la Chenaie.

Our stay was good, modern room with good shower and bed.
Our stay was good, modern room with good shower and bed. The bar was pleasant and the food good, the staff helpful. The only downside was the approach was shabby with rubbish bins and overgrown grass. The sign was damaged so we couldn't see it. so missed it first time round the roundabout.

The chateau is beautiful, as are the views along the Loire.
The chateau is beautiful, as are the views along the Loire. There are other attractions close by, including chateaux and wine caves. Robert et Marcel are about 15 mins drive away and do a great value and very informative wine tasting tour.

Excellent wine tasting experiences and tours with Bouvet Ladubey and with Chateau de Parnay (both very good in different ways, and we'd happily do them both again - we bought wine to bring home from both of them); eating out at L'Amuse Bouche, at Le Cellier and at Brasserie Artisanale Tina; and visiting the stunning Château de Saumur. Access in a and around Saumur is very easy with lots of very cheap public parking. Large supermarkets in town too for all shopping needs. Planning ahead is crucial, especially for eating out, to ensure the opening hours meet your needs

Saumur is an incredibly charming town on the banks of the Loire, with a beautiful historic castle set above the town. It's large enough that there are excellent services and plentiful restauants, but retains a small town feel. It's also within range of many great wineries and the great castles of the Loire, and it also has some interesting museums of its own.
We recommend Le Boeuf Noisette, Keating Steak, and L'cancuna for excellent meals.

Very welcoming hosts.Lovely view of the Loire- from our bedroom window. We had a great sense of history in this 300 year old former post office. It lies sheltered underneath Saumur Castle. The courtyard is a lovely area to relax in. Breakfast was very fresh with fresh fruit and yogurt in addition to juice fresh country bread and delicious croissants. Soya milk was bought especially for my husband . Parking outside the hotel was very easy to find.
Really nice hotel in the centre of Saumur. Ideally located for exploring the local area. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Great, clean facilities and we had a very comfortable, quiet room at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was good value and plentiful. We pre-booked a parking space at the back of the hotel which was an extra cost but worth it. We would definitely use this hotel again.
When you book in this price range in France you understand your own expectations about the accommodation. The rooms whilst basic were perfect for the stopover. Breakfast again was simple, but perfect and more than adequate, well stocked and plenty of coffee. The location was a short distance from the centre of Saumur by car and the location was easy to find.
Everything was amazing. The owner was superb. He couldn't do enough for us. His decor with all the horses was fantastic and his service and all the extra touches right from great drinks to novel ideas were just great.
Always use this hotel when we come to Saumur and we tell everyone we know to stay.
