We arrived expecting a double room with shower. We were shown to an attic room with a double bed and two singles and a small kitchen area. The bathroom was inadequate with a bath and shower attachment. We asked why we hadn’t been given our booked room and were told that there had been an error. The staff were excellent and we had dinner in the amazing restaurant whilst we found another place to stay. The attic rooms are hot and noisy according to the review and we needed a proper shower.

Chateau, Ecurie, Racecourse. Great.
The town is very walkable.
The restaurant I went to on the Friday of my trip La Villa was not as good as I hoped. I felt it was overpriced for what I had (which was a simple steak) but maybe my expectations were too high.

You need some time to enjoy Chantilly.
You need some time to enjoy Chantilly. The town itself is dominated by the racecourse but there is some much else to see and admire. You get bored then it is well served by a 25minute train into Paris.
Surrounded by forests with bike hire available. Visit Yucca for a great and relaxed evening meal washed down with a great Chablis!

Chantilly is marvellous!
Chantilly is marvellous! The chateau and grounds are breathtaking. We rented a golf buggy for an hour to explore the grounds and only managed to see half. There are even kangaroos!
The main street in the town has a range of restaurants and cafés. There's a great deli selling local produce.
Well worth visiting...again and again.

We decided not to stay in central Paris but somewhere further out on a decent train line and this was an excellent choice. In fact although we were there for five nights we only spent one day in Paris.
We visited Chantilly chateau which was amazing and took the bus to Senlis which is a lovely town with a medieval centre, city walls and a huge cathedral.
We also walked in Chantilly forest and saw race horses being exercised. The whole town is very horse focused and the horse museum was very interesting.
Finally there are lots of good restaurants in the town.

Lovely town 25 mins by train from Gare du Nord in Paris.
Lovely town 25 mins by train from Gare du Nord in Paris. We arrived there quicker than we could have reached most places within Paris and were rewarded with historic buildings, clean streets, plenty of restaurants and miles of forest and riverside walking and cycling. If you're a fan of France but not keen on Paris, Chantilly is a perfect short break.

A real-life town in an attractive part of (semi-rural) France, benefitting from a good range of shops, a (small) market, a significant variety of restaurants and cafes (to suit all tastes and budgets), friendly people - just a very nice place to visit.
Hopped on the bus to Senlis, the old walled town, and lunched there. Well worth the visit and the bus ride (but check the timetable and the bus stops carefully.....better, ask!!)
Bearing in mind that our trip was in late-January (when most attractions were partly or fully closed), we still managed to enjoy ourselves thoroughly.
Charming BnB with an excellent breakfast. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, and being able to play tennis at their tennis court was a plus. It's a shame we didn't have enough time to use the swimming pool, but would definitely like to return in the future. The hosts were extremely friendly and had great attention to detail. Every corner is nicely decorated.
The location is ideal for visiting Chantilly or for a stop over when travelling to/from the UK.
The rooms in an beautiful antique private house are in the absolute center of Chantilly, the chateau and the restaurants within minutes walking. After 19.00 more than enough free parking space. The house is behind a court yard in the Main Street, so though absolute central, is very quiet. The rooms have a view on the back garden. Highly recommended!
Welcoming and friendly hosts, homy atmosphere and very comfortable beds. It was like a visit at the house of our relatives in France. The breakfast was excellent! View to the garden, absolutely quiet place. We were surrounded by nature, but few minutes from the city centre.
Such a beautiful property in a terrific location and you can tell that hosts have really put their heart & soul into the recent renovation. There is great parking right outside and within walking distance to all the Chantilly has to offer!
