We had a wonderful stay! Remember to go fist to check in to the Adler Suite & Stuben Hotel right in the middle of the village before heading up to the apartment. The two bathrooms were a perfect convenience for our group of 4 girls, especially during busy mornings. The amazing balcony view was a highlight, and the spacious common areas allowed us to relax and socialise comfortably after all day hiking. The kitchen had all the basic equipment we needed for quick cooking. The bedrooms provided sample comfort, with the second bedroom being well-organized despite being slightly smaller. The apartment's decoration had a special touch, which some of us loved, though it might appear a bit crowded to others. Additionally, there was enough parking space just in front of the apartment. Highly recommend!

staying at apt hofer maria was comfortable and nice. The owners were very helpful when we were stuck somewhere because of the strike. We would definitely go back if we want to go back to Villabassa.

Villabassa/Niederdorf is a village on the border between Italy and Austria so like all the locations in the valley it has an Italian (Villabassa) and Austrian (Niederdorf) name which can be slightly confusing at first. Although not a large place it boast three good restaurants and two small supermarkets so there is a good choice when it comes to food. The restaurant of the Hotel Adler provided our best meal, but was also the most expensive. It is worth booking restaurants.
While Villabassa is quiet and peaceful it also has clean, frequent and punctual train and bus links to the other towns in the valley. While we were lucky and had a free travel pass from our accommodation the fares are not expensive (around 2 euros). This allows easy access to towns like Dobbiaco and San Candido which have more extensive retail opportunities should you require them, and to scenic splendors like the ski lifts to Monte Elmo and the shuttle to Tre Cime Di Laveredo.
We visited for four nights in June and were lucky to have fine weather.

the town is really quiet, during the night it is empty maybe cause i visited not during high seasons. Not so much to see or do for me the town is only to spend the nights and from there you can go check other towns and hike near mountains and it’s 15min close by car to lago di braies

Villabassa is a small town surrounded by spectacular...
Villabassa is a small town surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. We enjoyed meals at the Hotel Adler and Mexico City and also made use of the small supermarkets and the bakery. For those without transport there are local buses to the main walking routes.
We have been in 50+ hotels and this is so far the best room we ever had. Room wasn't classic small hotel room. We had big room with even bigger toilet and balcony from where you can see small river and mountains. Unit was unreal. Everything was designed so you can see that you are in the middle of Dolomiti. Perfect!!!

Excellent location, only 300 meters away from the train station that directly takes you at the nearby ski resorts (3 Zinnen, Kronplatz...), the hotel also offers the option of free transportation to the train station. All praise for the cleanliness and service in the hotel!
Clean, comfortable, not expensive hotel. The room has its own fully equipped kitchen. Perfect to stay for 1 night on the way to Braies Lake. There is a place to park a car and the bus stop 50 meters away.
