All the small details, fresh flowers, juicy melon and grapes in the fridge, rusks, coffee, biscuits it was just an amazing place to stay! The host is amazing. This is the best place to stay ideal for being in the Northern Cape and seeing what it is all about!! This is the ideal place to stay to base yourself between Augrabies, Kakamas and Keimoes. We visited Bazalel to taste wine and also Die Mas. Die Mas had Wine, Gin and Brandy tasting and the food was also well priced and very tasty! (A must at Die Mas :) We will be back to this property! This is also an ideal place to stay if you are on the way to Namibia!

Geelkop Plaashuis, hotel in Keimoes

Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a private pool, garden view and a patio, Geelkop Plaashuis is set in Keimoes.

Location is well placed and spaced. It's out of buzz of town. Nice view of the vineyards. The High ceilings give that regal feeling. There is a huge washing machine for convenience. There is everything any family can need, even a cot. Both bedrooms have well placed aircons, and the lounge has 2 water coolers. As it is the season, the lounge even had a Christmas tree, nice touch. Garage is long enough even for double cabs which tend to be longer. The host, Petra, is the mother we all need at all times. What a warm welcome, can't thank her enough. We even got a personalised quick lunch/dinner. We will definitely be back and always book Geelkop. Highly recommended

La Palma Lodge, hotel in Keimoes

Offering barbecue facilities and garden view, La Palma Lodge is located in Keimoes, 49 km from Upington Golf Club and 41 km from Kalahari-Oranje Museum.

Very welcoming, spacious room with fridge and aircon. Hosts offered to make a simple meal for us which we accepted as we were too tired to go out and they didn't recommend anywhere nearby. WiFi worked well, nice bathroom and shower. They changed our room from the one booked as they suggested it would be cooler and more confortable and it was perfectly good. TV with DSTV, little table though we had our food outside as the sun set on tables. Covered area for parking. Close to Augrabies Falls national park.

This is a perfect town to stay in to base yourself between Augrabies Keimoes and Kakamas. Bazalel Wines is a Boutique Wine Cellar that offers a coffee shop and wine and brandy tasting at a reasonable price. Drive to Augrabies Falls and enter into the small town off Augrabies and see what it is all about, on your way on this drive take in the awesome Quiver trees, the wineyards and all the local living. Die Mas van Kakamas is a Wine Cellar and Restaurant not to be missed. They offer beautiful settings over the wineyard and wine, gin and brandy tasting at a reasonable price - the food is very good! Keimoes Padstal is also your one stop shop if you are pressed for time or also Die Pienk Padstal. Keimoes Spar has everything you need if you dont want to go into Kakamas. Then there is the "Kalahari Vleishuis" in Keimoes....Flip se Rib is a deboned and spiced lamb rib and for those that know... daar is niks soos 'n staan rib in Noordkaap nie! Keimoes is also a great option to stay if you are on your way to Namibia.

The lack of the Local Municipality's Management skills is evedent in the deterioration of the town Keimoes, as the main road gives the impression/feeling that one is travelling through garbage.

Unfortunately the town was very dirty and that included the Municipality grounds as well. I expected a lot but even the landmark (water wheel) was only partially working with a filthy area surrounding it. Sad indeed

Well situated to reach other tourist sites, small community but friendly, town feels safe but always be streetwise were ever you travel is a good habit. Don't miss the historic waterwheel in the village.

A small town, typical of the region with it's many, many vineyards. The landscape is wonderful. Just what a person needs to relax and breath. A Visit to the Oranje Rivier Cellars is a must for anybody driving through Keimoes.
