Built in the beginning of the 1900’s and situated on rocks sloping into the sea, it has the charm of a colonial villa and the comforts of a modern hotel.

The property was beautifully presented and in a lovely location with beach 5 minutes away. The rooms were very comfortable and the breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the ocean wonderful. Leticia and her staff were amazing especially helping us out when my husband was unwell but from the moment we met them we felt cared for. There were lovely restaurants near by. It is a peaceful retreat.
Boasting air-conditioned accommodation with a patio, L' appartamentino is situated in Leni.

the view from the terrace is the only good thing about this place
But it had no chairs or tables, no shade either . the terrace furniture was in the kitchen , where there were two tables and eight chairs

Very good location, and nicely styled room. We booked last minute due to a ferry cancellation and the staff could not be kinder or more helpful. The restaurant, which is part of the hotel, is excellent - our favourite on the island.
Set just 20 metres from the coast and a pebble-stone beach, Hotel Santa Marina features a furnished terrace and spacious air-conditioned rooms. Wi-Fi is free in all public areas.

Lovely staff, friendly, hospitable, helpful. They even made us a bag for breakfast to take away as we had to leave early to get the ferry. Gorgeous roof terrace with great views for a yummy evening apperativo. Great location too.
Featuring Aeolian-style architecture, Hotel Mamma Santina is set in several houses with terrace, balcony or patio.

Was fabulous in every way-location to Main Street and beach, building itself was like a colourful painting with tiles and pool. Best of all was the food-amazing chef, we ate in every night! Highlight was the mango and ricotta granita, they make it all themselves.
Right on the seafront, Il Delfino is located on the Salina Island and it offers rooms with sea views, and free WiFi throughout. It has a typical restaurant and free private parking.

Rinella in June was very quiet with not many restaurants to choose from.
There was one clothes shop, one grocery shop and one tabbachi.
If you don’t have a car, ferry, taxi or Citi bus is the only way to get about - or hiking of course. The bus I think is cheapest but we didn’t use it because we were mostly island hopping. 10 minute ride on ferry to Santa Marina Salina seemed expensive for the trip but I think it gets more expensive at certain popular times of the day.
This is a quieter, more remote place to do the hopping (with the extra 10 min journey always tagged on the end from Santa Marina) so if you want a little bit more buzz choose one of the other islands or Santa Marina.
Personally, we liked the vibe on Vulcano and loved Stromboli. (Stromboli is probably not the best base for island hopping though as it is the furthest one away). Lipari is big and bustling and didn’t feel like island-life but if you like that sort of thing, it’s a great base.
On the whole we enjoyed our choice of base at Rinella. It was a good ‘getaway from it all’ place, where we were forced to do extremely little- when not venturing.
Mariella and Carlos are friendly and obliging hosts and their home is an historic house with a special history and unique charm that's been in the family for generations. It was a pleasure to meet them. Leni is a little village and one gets to know the locals a bit in a short time. I ate at a new little kitchen close by run by Enzo and it was homely and delicious. The local wines are wonderful and the capers and lemons! There are some lovely walks nearby. I would love to stay longer.
A quaint hotel in a beautiful area of the island, Rinella. Very tranquil and relaxing. Monica, Rosa and Marco were exceptional with doing as much as they can for you to make your stay at their impeccably clean hotel, a great one. Monica's home made goodies added a special touch to the breakfast on the terrace with a great view! Highly recommend Hotel Principe di Rinella.
