Everything met our expectations if we take into account the location, the staff, the cleanliness and the food for breakfast. The hotel is actually an old mansion, excellently preserved, with incredible stucco, wood inlay and coloured glass ornaments that give it a unique, classy architecture and style. Refurbished and very well soundproofed, the building looks amazing (especially inside) while the friendly stuff (receptionists and cleaner ladies) make you feel spoiled!
Secondly, we should mention the exquisite cuisine and food products offered for breakfast. They were both a surprise for the eyes and for the tongue! Delicate miniatures, thin slices of cheddar cheese, ham, meat, salami, tasty buns and fresh loaves of bread, sausages, mixed veggies, fruits, quality tea/juice, yoghurt, milk and cereals, appetizing cakes and sweets, and an excellent cup of coffee at the end were all a great delight to start your day with.

lovely hour in the art museum. Christmas market is a bit basic and very expensive for what was there. Food incredibly expensive and not great - I normally love mici but this wasn't good. Had to wait until quite late for any atmosphere.
I'd visit Craiova as part of a longer trip, but not for the market.

Looks like a good city for this region of Romania. There were some great buildings, of course some of them were in bad condition. Some were renovated and were looking really good. The city center is great, the Christmas bazaar was really cool, there were lights everywhere and it was beautiful. Can't recommend any transportation as we decided to walk being close to the city center.
Had a good lunch in one restaurant (Big Ben) near the hotel, the service and the food were really good.

It is a city to visit!
It is a city to visit! Especially in December, during the Christmas festivities. Keep in mind that in December, during the weekends it is crowdy.
So you better go there between Christmas and New year.
Everything is in Rumanian and we couldn't meet even one person spiking English. So, be careful what kind of questions you are asking, as the answer will be just a lie, because they do not understand and answer Yes to everything. There are places where you cannot pay with cards, so bring cash. One bakery we liked - Maestro.

I was there for the Christmas market which is done every year and is one of the quite famous in Europe. I am glad I got the chance to go and visit. The whole city Christmas decoration was quite impressive. In the weekend can be a little hectic for most people taste so if you have the opportunity go in the center and enjoy the show between Monday and Friday.

A two to three night stay is about right for visiting the Christmas market. It is impressive! so many lights and displays throughout the pedestrianised area. The city is very clean. I think if litter is ever dropped, it's cleaned up within minutes. Nice to see the old, grand buildings being done up. There is only a few attractions though. park is also impressive! Art museum is about an hours tour (lovely former palace!).Easy and safe to walk around, plus Ubers from the airport is £6-£7. Airport is tiny, but very well run.

White Inn Appartment was spotless and it exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect, in a quiet area, within easy reach of Craiova's Old Town. The place was spacious enough for four grown-ups, the host friendly, communication excellent. The Christmas decorations outside were a festive welcoming touch.
Charming small hotel. I liked the location with its narrow streets and Romanian flair. It's not far to the city center, walking distance. Communication with the host was very efficient.
