The location of Casa Bubu is so great, close to the center, clean and quite neighborhood , we enjoyed walking to the cultural center of Grenada, had several dinners at Pita-Pita, and NM Culinary Granada.
If I will go again to Granada I would definitely stay at Casa Bubu.

Granada is a pretty colonial town allowing easy access to Lake Nicaragua and an hour and a half drive to the Southwest to hit the beaches of the Pacific Ocean. Lots of choices to eat and drink in Granada but get there before it becomes too popular and loses some of its Authentic appeal.

Granada is stunningly beautiful and a wonderful place to visit! So much history and beauty everywhere — natural, cultural, historical. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful, even with my limited Spanish. It is very safe and walkable, and taxis are also readily available! We visited Massaya (mostly for the artisan market), las Pueblas Blancas (for ceramics), and Caterina Mirador (view of Laguna Apoyo) on the way, and I would highly recommend all of these experiences. During our stay in Granda we visited Las Isletas, Mombacho for the canopy tour, and explored on foot and in a carriage. Favorite restaurants were El Ziguan and Asarte. Both were excellent! Breakfast at Secret Garden was also delicious! We really enjoyed our time in Granada!

Granada is a beautiful Spanish colonial classic, a must on your trip to Nicaragua. I went straight from Managua airport without staying in Managua .
I also reccomend the Volcanoe cone Appoyo, it is pristine clean water, swimming in a Volcanoe cone. My favorite cafe was the Garden Cafe delicious food and beautiful courtyard setting typical of inner city Granada

I have never seen so many rude, contemptuous residents in most of the center city. They make Parisians look like a welcoming committee. They make a habit of fleecing tourists, both our hostel front desk and a food kiosk blatantly charged us more than they were supposed to and we witnessed atrocious behavior toward other tourists. Maybe 5% of the people we interacted with were friendly.
Service was comically bad in the restaurants we visited. They have plenty of tourists, but haven't learned much in the way of hospitality yet. Grocery stores are expensive with poor selections.
Arriving into Managua was not at all bad. And we are finding San Juan del Sur a joy, although this too is fairly pricey bc of all the American and Canadian tourists. Restaurant food was much higher quality and better value, service was great and everyone has been so very friendly.
So, really, all of our bad experiences were in Granada. I have no intention of returning and don't plan to recommend it to anyone. I hope to have a chance to see more of Managua before I leave.

Granada is a bustling city with nice people.
Granada is a bustling city with nice people. We like the fact that we were close to stores, markers, banks, parks etc..
What we did not like, is that there are no street signs, and since we were driving, we got lost a few times. Also, the beach was picturesque but unfortunately it was littered with garbage everywhere. It was very disappointing.

Yves was a gracious host and his guest House Casa Bubu in Granada is a special place. Every detail is meant to give each guest the best possible experience. The remodeled Colonial home is so exquisite with it's locally made art pieces and decor. The lighting is amazing throughout the property. the guest suites are so well thought out, great use of space. This place is a vibe. The breakfast was so delicious. Omelet, fresh juice, homemade crepes and fruit. We absolutely loved it and will be back very soon! Merci mon ami Yves. 😊
First and foremost, Esther the hotel manager is amazing. She went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, provide interesting suggestions for activities, even invited the spa ladies in for us to have mani pedis in the open air courtyard. The rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Hazel the cook and cleaner is amazing and prepares a delicious breakfast. If you are looking for a small boutique colonial hotel experience, you can't go wrong with Casa Cubana.
Fantastic and stylish small hotel. We loved it. Unfortunately, we could only stay for two nights. The house has been partly reconstructed, partly newly build in the style of a typical colonial townhouse. If you can, take the room with the city view, but the others are beautiful as well.
This hotel is a gem and the staff especially helpful. Great colonial spanish architecture and location was terrific. The pool is also a plus as Granada can get very hot.
