We received a very warm welcome and some immediate help as the valet of our hire car had left his bag in the car and we were able to make arrangements for its repatriation. We took lunch on arrival and the food was really good so we also had dinner in the evening. The breakfast was equally enjoyable.
We had a bit of fun playing on the pool and table tennis tables. We did not use the pool but it looked relaxing.
The views, both from the restaurant balcony and our room were amazing.

Ate twice in the Rozafa Fish restaurant - delicious food, very friendly and helpful waiters who helped us select the fresh fish for dinner.

You can easily fill a day seeing the sites in and near Shkoder -- this is best done by renting a bicycle. And organising all necessary transport for the Theth-Valbona hike is very easy to do once you arrive here.

A generation ago the roads in Albania were sufficient for the then current traffic. Apart from some new motorways being built nearer to Tirana there appears to have been no major road improvements in the Shkoder area over the next generation - however the number of cars using the roads has risen dramatically until the roads are clogged at any major traffic intersection. There is a two-lane bridge (one lane each way) over the river Buna into Shkoder being fed by two major roads - we were in a 2-hour queue to get onto this bridge!! Drivers be aware of the length of delays (for no apparent reason) at any major road intersection.
Shkoder's main (probably only) sites of interest are: Sheshi or Kole Idromeno Street; Rozafa Castle; Ebu Bekr Mosque; and 5 kms outside the city is Mesi (stone) Bridge.

Shkoder is an amazing town. So much to see and do.
Shkoder is an amazing town. So much to see and do. I love albania people so nice and friendly. Go to the castle outside of town. Art museum and play theatre very cool. Good food. It is very beautiful. The city center is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous parks and nice ice cream stands. Wonderful fishing on Shkoder lake and river outside of town. This place is the best place on earth.

Shkoder is a lovely little city; the people are friendly, there’s a bunch of great restaurants and some really lovely bars. The city is super pretty and clean. Another great thing about Shkoder is it’s proximity to the mountains! Theth is so close you can easily do a little trip there
I loved the traditional style of the hotel and the way it centred around a gorgeous quiet courtyard where a wonderful (gentle) Albanian live duo play/sing each night.
The food is delicious, there’s free parking and it’s just a quick walk to the old town.
The staff were very helpful, the room was comfortable and we booked a day trip to Shala river effortlessly through them.
The room was cool in the heat and the courtyard was blissfully airy.
It can be difficult to find good accommodation and I do recommend this hotel.

We only stayed here for one night on our way to explore the Albanian mountains, but it was a very pleasant experience! The guy at the reception was great; we arrived quite late and he was able to arrange food delivery for us as their kitchen was already closed. We were also leaving very early the next morning, so they had arranged packed breakfast for us. The hotel was fresh, clean and modern. No complaints.
