We loved this town. It was quaint, friendly, and beautiful. There were great restaurants, everything in town was walkable, and there were lots of outdoorsy things to do with kids (rent bikes, rent a kayak, go for a hike, go for a boat ride). I recommend a cafe called Montes, some of the best coffee I have had and the owner is really nice. We definitely will go back to this town.

Absolutely beautiful place.
Absolutely beautiful place. Wonderful restaurants and full of boutique hotels. The natural landscapes and lakes in this area of the country are breath-taking. I could easily live here =)
But settled for a wonderful vacation, full of nature, good food and incredibly kind people. Would definitely recommend 2-3 days here when in Patagonia.

Lots to do in san Martin! Fish swim hike bike play golf ( we played Golf ) and hiked but I go to fish also every year!
Great food in town and San Martin is a very clean town which is not always the car win South America!

It has a great story how the valley was created many years ago after a glacier carved the mountains and melted after the ice age. Anyways, it is a super nice cozy city surrounded by many activities to name, and places to visit; such as volcano Lanín, beaches, nature watching, fishing, mountain/road biking, and many more.

The cabanas were right near the old part of the town which has an array of tourist and local shopping opportunities as well as historical sites to visit. It is also near a lake with waterside restaurants. Chapelco is the nearby ski resort.

Beautiful town, many things to see.
Beautiful town, many things to see. Great panoramic views of the lakes on the road from Villa La Angostura to San Martin de Los Andes. Only two buses a day between those two towns. Lake trip pricey (US$50). Many surrounding places to explore. Great stores and restaurants, Very reasonable dinners and great offerings. Specialties are trout, venison and wild boar. I ate at Porthos, great value.

Very good location, not far from a supermarket. Quiet location and nice garden. Good breakfast is delivered to accommodation. Safe off street parking. Very nice and helpful host. Border Chile-Argentina closes in the evening and we could not pass and had to return to Pucon. That night was kindly not charged by La Bora. Could change some US dollars into Argentina pesos at reception which we really appreciated. Can only recommend La Bora.
Everything was perfect. The view, the tranquility, the rooms, the hospitality of the hostess, breakfast and dinner. Lili helped us book a taxi and recommended a great restaurant and art gallery. We had a wonderful time and would recommend Casona Del Alto to anyone. Without a doubt the best place we stayed during our trip to Argentina.
This is a well-appointed hotel, though some distance from the centre of San Martin des Andes. It boasts an outdoor heated swimming pool and this is reflected in the price. My room had a kitchen and there is a small parking area available.
The breakfast was great! It was also one of the only breakfast in town with scrambled eggs as I asked multiple hotels if they provide it and they did not.
