I have friends in Copenhagen and always enjoy going there to visit. I love that it is so easy to get around using the trains and metro. I enjoy the historic buildings in the old part of the city and visiting castles and museums in Copenhagen and in other parts of Denmark. I always go to visit the Royal Copenhagen store and the Studio Arhoj. In summer, there are many lovely parks and beaches to visit. There are lots of good restaurants and cafés to choose from. The only drawback is that it is very expensive.

The people are lovely and polite.
The people are lovely and polite. There are so many interesting things to see around the city. Many museums, attractions, shopping, cafes etc... As a solo woman traveller, I felt very safe in the city even walking around at night. It is an easy city to take day trips from to other parts of the country and even to Sweden and Germany. I would highly recommend the city for a visit. I stayed for 10 days and it was the perfect time. If I had stayed longer I would have travelled to more of Scandinavia.

Copenhagen is one of my favorite cities.
Copenhagen is one of my favorite cities. It's easy to get around, with lots of great sights to see and food to enjoy. Public transportation is easy, and the Metro is the best way to get into the city from the airport. Nyhavn has some wonderful restaurants and ice cream shops. I recommend Hyttefadet for a meal and Vaffelbageren for ice cream or a decadent chocolate truffle. Restaurant Vita near Kongens Nytorv serves traditional Danish fare with friendly service. Amalienborg and Rosenborg Palaces are both worth the visit (get a combined ticket). If you can get to Amalienborg in late morning, watch the elaborate changing-of-the-guard ceremony. It starts at noon and lasts about 45 minutes. Tivoli Gardens is a magical place, especially in December. But there is much more to see in Copenhagen than these well-known sights, so plan to walk around as much as you can. For a tasty souvenir, stop at Lakrids Kompagniet (available at Tivoli and some Christmas markets in season)--a local company that makes some of the best European licorice treats ever!

We went in December, but cold. Getting around was good.
We went in December, but cold. Getting around was good. You can hire bikes or walk. Everything seems to be about 10 mins away. River cruise was good. I will go when again when its a bit warmer though.

The blend of old and new in Copenhagen is seamless.
The blend of old and new in Copenhagen is seamless. It's one of the cleanest cities I've ever visited and everyone we met was polite and helpful. Of course, everyone's English was also impeccable which made for easy travelling and put us to shame! There is something for everyone and I would highly recommend the canal boat tour for a quick orientation when you arrive before settling in. The best hotdog stand in near the Round Tower - organic and delicious!! Cycling is very popular and easy, but being January with snow and ice on the road, we were a little nervous; definitely would use bikes in the summer months though.

The warm politeness and kindness of the people stood out, and I loved that I could easily communicate in English. Strolling and shopping along Europe's longest street was a delight, with stunning architecture adding to the charm. Exploring the city through its trains, metros, buses, and picturesque canal rides was unforgettable, and the variety of eateries made the experience even more enjoyable! We went to the movies, had fun in the tube at the train station, visited the Guinness World of Records which was fun for kids. We visited Tivoli Gardens, visited the statue of the little marmaid, visited souvenir shops too. We ate at Madklubben Vesterbro, Espresso, Le Diamant Bistro among others.

Lovely modern hotel located close to metro and about 2 stops from city centre, for our short stay of 3 nights in Copenhagen. Small but perfectly adequate room which was spick and span. Super powerful shower too.. Marvelous roof top bar that served small bites, alcohol, hot and cold drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful too Good amenities close by, supermarket, pharmacy, bars, restaurants and cafe.
We really enjoyed our stay at NH Collection: our room was really clean, modern and spacious, whilst members of staff were friendly and helpful. And the sound insulation was excellent as we didn't hear any of the traffic or any other residents of the hotel! The location itself was perfect to explore the city centre by foot. We warmly recommend this hotel and would happily return when back in Copenhagen.
Great location! Near Tivoli and the famous Stroget shopping street and look out for Doner Kebab restaurant on Stroget street. It's been around forever and my husband craves it every year. We've stayed in many hotels in Copenhagen throughout the years and this is our favorite. Historic design by Arne Jacobsen. Try to book the Arne Jacobsen Suite.
Superb location, easy to reach city centre on foot. Both train and bus terminals are in convenient reach to travel outside of the capital. Copenhagen mall is also within walking distance. All in all, it is a good hotel for those who prefer to focus on the town itself rather spending a lot of times indoors.
We loved everything about this cosy hotel. Very welcoming and friendly staff who were happy to help. Excellent breakfast. Bike hire. Great location close to everything. We were so glad we chose Absalon Hotel and we had a great time in Copenhagen.
