Siisti ja turvallinen alue, mahtavat rannat lyhyen ajomatkan päässä. Rantatie etelään ja pohjoiseen huikea. Huntington beachilla sopivasti myös yöelämää ja lukuisia ravintoloita. Kauppakeskukset sijaitsevat kaukana toisistaan ja ovar huonosti merkittyjä, joten niitä on vaikea löytää iöman tarkkaa osoitetta ja gps paikanninta. Julkista liikennettä ei juurikaan ole ja välimatkat ovat pitkiä. Auto on siten ehdoton liikkumisen edellytys. Ajaminen on helppoa kaikkialla Kaliforniassa, myös Los Angelesissa.
Olimme vain läpikulkumatkalla, joten emme tutustuneet paikkaan kovinkaan syvällisesti. Ostosmahdollisuuksia löytyi akuutteihin tarpeisiin kyllä. Mitenkään viehättävän, kiinnostavan kaupungin kuvaa emme tästä saaneet. Se toki jäi mieleen, että alue on todella maanviljelysvaltaista (Kalifornian salaattikulho) ja että kaupungissa vietetään artisokkafestivaaleja. Emme silti lähtisi kaupunkiin enää uudestaan ;)
Pieni merenrantakaupunki Tyynenmeren rannalla, Monterey Bay alueella. Äärettömän kiva pyöräillä rantaa, jossa pitkän matkaa upeat pyörä- ja jalankulkureitit upeissa maisemissa. Kallis, mutta niin on koko lähiseutu Kaliforniassa muutenkin. Etenkin Cannery Row alueen ravintoloissa on erittäin korkeat hinnat.
