We were a little nervous travelling to Mindanao as our Government had warnings about here. We felt very safe in Davao. There are security stations and police everywhere! Everyone we encountered was very friendly. The restaurants we ate at were good, especially Gangnam Korean and Jacks Ridge. The city view from up there was stunning. We were there to attend a wedding in Digos and followed up with a few days in Davao. We went to Eden Nature park which in itself was not much but the sky thrill adventures outside the park are great fun.
I can not recommend Ozamiz to anyone. A poor dirty city. The people watching one with suspicion, as in the rest of Mindanao. You will not face smiles as such in Visayas. I met four foreigners in two days, Perhaps not so surprisingly,
Davao is on Mindanao Island, which along with other southern islands of Philippines have been the neglected child of the Philippines giving rise to social tensions and unrest. Rodrigo Duterte, the current president of Philippine, is from Duterte and everyone in Mindanao is hoping he will get international investors to invest in the area. The main attractions are: The Crocodile Farm, The Eagles Center, lakes, mountains and other "nature" stuff everyone in Manila is hoping he will get rid of the corruption etc as he did in Mindanao. .
Friendly and gentle-speaking locals, safe place with lots to discover. Also a gateway to discover the rest of the beauty of Mindanao.
Davao city is the safest city in mindanao area of the philippines. And theres a lot of park and farm in the city. Night market is a must try.
Davao City compared to other Cities in Mindanao was well above average. It's cleaner, safer, and the water there is actually drinkable. Hospitals and Doctors are rated second only to Manila. (by Philippine standards). It's a little more pricey than other areas of Mindanao for housing and other things.
Cagayan De Oro they say is the gateway to Mindanao - at least that is what our guide said - is one true gateway to awesome happiness. Our stay there is just a couple of days but most of the places were visited though a few good ones were skipped due to bad weather (it was raining). We enjoyed white water rafting the most and it is a-must when coming to CDO. Really loved how we thought that the rapids will throw us out of the raft but didn't - it was really enjoyable. We do not have much time tasting CDO's delicacies as we went around either on restaurants recommended by hotel staff or the nearest fast food chain. Can't say it was that easy to get around CDO since we are rented a vehicle with the guide to tour us around. The only thing in CDO - they don't have much places to offer for a visit - only quite a few, I guess the only thing that attracts the tourists is the white water rafting. And please CDO - have a decent and official shops for souvenirs and pasalubong. We only got Pastel and souvenir shirt - that's it! Nothing much to offer.
Went to Davao to attend Kadayawan festival, where different local tribes in Mindanao joined together in a parade of culture, music, dances, flowers and more. We visited the crocodile farm which I rated as average, but add-on to the entry ticket is the Kamindanawan fire dance which is fantastic cultural dance. We also visited the Philippine Eagle center which is a bit far from the city center. Its a shame that the place looks so neglected and need a complete renovation. There’s a lot of eating options in Davao like in Matina, Abreeza and SM Malls. There’s also a lot of bars around the city, particularly around Rizal street near the City hall. Like any major cities in the Philippines, traffic is terrible also in Davao.
No other place in Butuan for tourists. It is a good place to travel from to loads of tourist spots in different places in Mindanao tho.
Ive never set foot in Mindanao for safety reasons BUT when i did in Siargao ive never felt safer than my home. You could literally leave ur stuff to dry and ur room without guards and find everything back safe. The people were so warm l, smiling and accommodating. They dont overcharge u. Thanks to the Mayor who disciplined his constituents to treat visitors right👍 Responsible tourism is what sets Siargao apart from the best surfing, beaches and food that are right on the budget👏👏👏
A dedicated and mostly friendly staff. Facility has a warden during nighttime. Airport shuttle service worked flawlessly, but you need to pay extra for it. Bathrooms are in a good condition, given the standard in Mindanao. At least some furnishing to stow away your stuff. Water heater in the room.
like the location, breakfast, fire escape....we have to use the escape as a quake hit parts of Mindanao and tremors was felt strong in the hotel. Lots of guests went through the fire escape, but at least the fire escape is well lighted, wide and easy to access and completely free..
The biggest asset to the hotel is the restaurant. Lime & Zest is far out one of the better places to eat in Mindanao. The room was spacious, clean and got everything needed.
I like the surrounding very relaxing
Special mention to the concierge, JR. He was very helpful and accommodating.
Close for everything you need less stress in doing so many things and the most we love we could buy all the organic fruits and the prices are cheap. All the restaurant are very closed to walk and the banking are convenient for us plus the wholesaler grocery we enjoy our shopping.
Location is accessible just beside SM
The hotel was beautiful and airy , and entrance going up to the lobby and lobby itself very welcoming. Location was perfect , so convenient and a few steps away from restaurants and shopping. Greenleaf Hotel customer service was excellent. The entire Staff was very professional, attentive , courteous and most of all , very pleasant and helpful -from the Front Desk, Concierge, waiters at their restaurants, Security Guards, etc.. Housekeeping was very prompt when we needed something. The room was comfortable. Our experience at the Mint Café where we had the delicious breakfast (included with our stay) was also very pleasant. The food was good! They also had free shuttle to and from the airport. Coincidentally, it was their 10th year anniversary , and we were lucky to be able to take part in the celebration with entertainment and fireworks. They offered hors d’oeuvres and drinks for free to celebrate the occasion. Will surely be back and highly recommend the hotel to family and friends.
Club Tara is not that bad. Don’t believe in the worst reviews given by the other guests. First, it is not a five-star resort, don’t expect much in the facilities. There is an ongoing renovation during our visit, so expect improvements soon. The resort has comfortable rooms where you can see the beauty of nature and a jacuzzi in each room. Their staff members are amiable, accommodating, and helpful. A special mention to Bonga. She was such a darling to us. You will not regret having her with you during your meal time. The foods we ordered were excellent. They have a good cook there. The place is remote, so expect a bad mobile internet connection. But that will be the best time to unwind. Their location is perfect if you want to escape the noise and stress of the city. Just use their free surfboard or kayak because there are many places to explore. There is a part where it feels like you are in the middle of the jungle. It’s total bliss and peaceful out there. Overall, we enjoyed our three-night stay at the resort. It’s worth the money.
ROOM IS CLEAN AND THE RP STAFF ARE FRIENDLY. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO MY FRIENDS. I WOULD DEFINITELY BOOK AGAIN. THANK YOU FOR TOUR GOOD ACCOMODATION. THE VENTILATION IS VERY GOOD. THE MATTRESS, TOWELS ETC. ARE CLEAN.
Rooms were very comfortable and complete amenities. Good selection of food menu and great breakfast. Location is also perfect since it sis just beside the mall.
Love the service and hospitality of the staff
Great location , friendly helpful staff and clean room
location closed to all amenities
The Staff were exceptional. Attention to detail and customer focus was outstanding. Location was kept in traditional Philippines pacific style which is so much better than a giant concrete monolith planted in a beautiful natural part of the world. Only 45 minutes by private boat is very commutable. Food was excellent and catered for everyone. All the facilities were constantly being cleaned and maintained to postcard status 24/7 Happy hour everyday and 50% off all drinks for a further hour daily . No request was too hard for the exceptional staff . Great value for money .
Everything. So far this is the best Go Hotel that we have been to.
The bed was comfy, the room was spacious, the view is great!
Rooms are beautifully decorated.
