Beautiful place with great facilities, nice bathroom, good aircon and WiFi, kitchenette, very comfortable. They recommended a nearby restaurant for an evening meal (The Fat Greek) which was excellent. No hesitation in staying here again. The Big Hole is not far away and recommended to visit.
Good breakfast. Efficient service. Extra beds in the rooms gave us flexibility to manage sleeping arrangements. Nice to have access to a pool at the end of a long drive. The Big Hole Museum is definitely worth a visit!

We had a good night's stay at the hotel. It overlooks the Big Hole and is so easy to access the historic town around the mine and the Big Hole. Staff were friendly and the hotel was good.
The hotel is conveniently located next to the big hole. The design suits the buildings at the hole. When you step in it has a luxurious feel and we were welcomed by the staff. The room was squeaky clean. It met our needs for the night.
The hotel is on the edge of the Big Hole, making it a great location, but not within walking distance of restaurants.
The staff made us feel most welcome at reception. The dinning room staff need a special shout out, for excellent service.
Breakfast and supper buffet style, excellent spread.
Relaxing and clean gardens to stroll around, or sit and enjoy a drink/meal.
I took my daughters on a roadtrip and we said lets go and explore what they learned in school in history and geography. We choose Kimberley for the Big Hole and Diamonds exploration. all 3 children when I put the option of a hotel stay jumped to say we must stay at Protea hotel. Wow you made the stay so so special. The staff went over and above - were so so friendly.

The hotel is very close to the big hole. It is clean and well maintained with a nice garden. Friendly staff who assisted us quickly with a change in room setup. Sufficient and safe parking.
We liked the breakfast and location where the hotel was. However the room we go was right by the exit door, and the fans and noises were evident. We liked the location to the Big Hole as well as walking distance. The hotel was comfortable and easily accessible.
