FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

We love Cape Town the beautiful scenery and the wonderful restaurants and wine. We took a short drive to Houtbay to visit the waterfront for lunch and had a wonderful afternoon. We only stayed 3 nights and had to shop for outfits for a new years party , found it all at V&A , we visited the famous Sandy Bay and had a relaxing day on the beach after the scenic hike to get there, we cooled of in the sea by only standing in the water knee high.

Cape Town is vibrant, exciting, energetic and has a lot of cultural history. There is something for everyone's taste. Cape Town is famous for its wine, brandy, food, olives and cheeses, to mention a few. No mater where you are, you will always have a stunning view of either the wine-lands, beaches, flowers or the mountains.

I loved how tidy and clean the City is.

I loved how tidy and clean the City is. I loved visiting V&A Waterfront the most. The City sight seeing bus was both fun and educational. I wouldn't travel to CPT again in a busy season like December...V&A was extremely busy everyday! Make sure to book a table in advance if you want to spend New Year's eve at V&A. We couldn't secure any seats as it was fully booked.

Cape Town was truly an incredible experience! The combination of stunning natural beauty, exceptional restaurants, and top-notch service made my trip unforgettable. Visiting Robben Island and hearing firsthand stories from one of the former prisoners was moving and enlightening. Ideal location, huge hotel, fantastic staff and the Westin Club Lounge has amazing views over the city. This is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Cape Town and this was my third stay with The Westin there is also an excellent selection of food and they cater for Halal which is great for my Muslim friends. I would have no hesitation in recommending The Westin, Cape Town for business, family or sight seeing in the Cape.

Excellent location on Sea Point, in a nice area. A bit far away of the City Bowl but worth it, as it is easy to reach the historical places by Uber/taxi and much more pleasant to stay away from the center of Cape Town in the evening. Quiet small but stylish hotel with all the amenities you find a bigger ones ; welcoming staff and owner ; excellent breakfast ; excellent food and selection of wines at the restaurant
