Cape Capsules, hotel in Muizenberg

Facing the beachfront, Cape Capsules offers 3-star accommodation in Muizenberg and has a garden, shared lounge and terrace.

It was my partners birthday one of the ladies even organized a cute birthday poster on the wall, when we got there it was there and my partner loved it. We were not driving but used an uber to get to this location it is right in front of the road. We didn't even need an uber for other things the beach is right across the road, swimming pool just a few minutes away and so are the restaurants and other facilities. we had fun and still managed to take a walk at night going back to the Capsules, our room was clean they even provided a fan for extra ventilation. We hate shared bathrooms but those bathrooms changed how we look at shared bathrooms in general, they were so clean, tidy and provided all the bathroom necessities. You do pay a Cleaning fee and a deposit when you get there but that was refundable and we could still buy from their mini kitchen using the same deposit. The ladies were well mannered, provided excellent customer service. I am no swimmer but if you are looking for a reasonable place next to the beach to clear your head off this is the place.Tv room, kitchen and smoking area too it is one of those places that are small but cute and worth their price.

Muizenberg is well connected to drive to Cape Town (20-30 minutes) and also to the Cape of Good Hope, or to travel both directions by train. We enjoyed the little cafés, restaurants and shops on the way to Fishhoek. It is was great to have a long beach in Muizenberg but at the time we went there we found lots of seaweed and there were some constructions going on that created unpleasant smells.

Muizenberg is a big surf area attracting many people who love being in or close to the water. It is busy and active with plenty of action on or near the water. Plenty of eating places with great coffee to go. Not Hout Bay or Camps Bay so don't go thinking you will get fine dining and dressed up crowds. Think more bohemian and down to earth. A great vibe if you love the ebb and flow of the ocean and surfers.

Surfers Corner specifically was a whole great vibe! A community on their own. I got to surf for the first time. People on surfers corner were friendly and open. Close enough to Checkers to buy groceries. A nice balance of food places and great places to buy swimming and surfing equipment.

Muizenberg is our favourite place in the entire world.

Muizenberg is our favourite place in the entire world. I have lived in four countries and travelled to many more. It has a charm that is unique. It’s location, how the mountain and the sea come together is stunningly beautiful. The beach has beautiful white sand. The coffee shops and restaurants are world class. The surf shops and the children learning to surf is great and special. Learning to surf will change their lives for the good. We love the Empire Cafe, Knead and many more places to eat. The old buildings that have been renovated give me great pleasure.

The venue is unique, with its infamous >100 stairs to get there. Definitely recommend ditching the suitcase and using a rucksack. Breakfast was amazing and staff most helpful and friendly. Even on a miserable day, the views are amazing - looking down over Muizenberg and out towards Simons Town. It has charm and is far from the commercialised hotel type establishments.

Location is good, you can easily walk to the surf spot in Muizenberg. Also later check-in was possible with the help of other guests staying there. Plus the price was at least quite cheap – but that's also what you get.
