The Bantry Aparthotel by Totalstay, hotel in Cape Town

Situated between the V&A Waterfront and Camps Bay, The Bantry Aparthotel by Totalstay offers self-catering suites with air conditioning.

It is the best value for money considering the location. Rooms are clean and neat and have everything one would need. I love the little plungers instead of instant coffees. Aircons worked well. Lifts were a bit congested at times, but there is the emergency staircase for the inpatient travellers like myself. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, there are so much options down the road with a fantastic view. All and all, I would definitely recommend the hotel to any traveller.

FAQs about hotels in Cape Town

Cool, Colourful Cape

Between mountains and beaches, the 2nd largest city in South Africa mixes history, resilient modernity, and a typical laidback African character. From the top of Table Mountain to the colourful Bo Kaap quarter, and from the Victoria & Albert Waterfront to the modern business district, Cape Town blends multicultural influences and beautiful nature.

Known as Kaapstad in Afrikaans, its sunny weather and mild temperatures make it a perfect place to enjoy the large number of beaches that surround it. From Sunset Beach to Hout Bay, and from Simon’s Town to Gordon Bay, this city offers a variety that suits all tastes. Whale and dolphin watching is a popular activity in False Bay.

Located on the Cape of Good Hope, the city was founded in 1652 by a Dutch trading company as a way-station for ships travelling to the East Indies. With the settling process, all sorts of foreign plants were introduced, including the grapes in the famous Cape Winelands District, just outside Cape Town.

Cape Town’s history does have some darker periods, and some of its memorable places from this time deserve to be visited: Robben Island jail, the City Hall from which Nelson Mandela gave his first public speech, and the statues of the 4 South African Nobel Peace Prize winners on the V&A Waterfront.

I had heard many scare stories about Cape Town and crime levels, and was wary, especially travelling mainly on my own as a woman. I was careful not to walk alone at night and stuck to mainly touristy activities but it is a beautiful city and area with some of the most welcoming and genuinely friendly people I have ever met. Uber helped me get around safely and people were always checking I was ok. The range of activities, food, wine, sport, nature is amazing. Highly recommended.

Quite frankly the best hotel I’ve stayed in Cape Town. The interiors were lovely: I had a brilliant receptionist called Siya who was personable, accommodating and kindly updated my room after a booking error. It’s is a 10 minute walk from Greenpoint and Waterfront, with a pretty decent gym, lovely restaurants, a great complimentary breakfast (AB was brilliant as was the Bacon and Egg bagel), with really attentive staff, which made for a wonderful experience.

My husband and I had a great time at the Pineapple House! Super friendly service and beautiful design in the room. Excellent breakfast with several warm options brought to the table a la carte style + a variety of fresh fruits available from the buffet. The location in Sea point was great as the area is safe to walk around and there are lots of restaurant options. If we are ever in Cape town again, we'll make sure to book this hotel again :)
