Casablanca Hotel by Library Hotel Collection, hotel in New York

This boutique Manhattan hotel is located in the Theater District and steps from Times Square. The hotel offers a daily continental breakfast, free Wi-Fi and 24-hour access to refreshments.

Loved it. So near to Times Square but we hardly heard a thing. We did have a room that looked onto the courtyard though so not sure how it was facing the street. Staff were excellent and friendly. Second floor for drinks and snacks was fab and so handy. Bathroom great. Amenities replenished when used. Breakfast basic but more than adequate and staff then were so lovely and would remember what you liked. Would def stay again.

Times Square

Alive with billboards and brightly-lit screens, Times Square thrums with energy. Yellow taxis fly past and tourists pause awestruck to snap photos on their phones. The bustle of New York summed up in one crossroads, every element competes for your attention. It may be often recreated for film and TV, but nothing beats seeing this iconic location up-close.

    why is this even mentioned?

why is this even mentioned? crowded, often dirty, unsurprising and very touristy. if you like neon well maybe but it’s rather gross. exciting maybe for people who’ve never traveled. if you want to be awestruck, go to the 9/11 memorial.

Superb place at any time during the day. Specially after 3:00 PM when most theaters release all the available seats at the amazing shows for that evening. Great place to stop and have something to eat after the shows. Amazing feeling of a city that has a hard time to sleep at night.

Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.

The one plus of the location is that there is a subway station right outside the door of the hotel. It is walking distance to Macy's and the Empire State Building. It is a longer walk to Times Square and Central Park, but doable. We felt safe in this area.

Location, Location ! Just around the corner from Times Square . Good value hotel considering the central location in this expensive city. Simple, basic clean room in an older building (we didn't spend much time in the room) Slept well after busy days out sightseeing . Everything worked as it should and nothing to complain about. Would stay here again if ever in New York .

The bedroom was very comfortable with a lovely bathroom and good shower. Good value for money and the hotel was more authentic and traditional New York than some of the larger hotel chains in my opinion. The location was excellent for Times Square. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was relaxed and fresh, we were a bit late a couple of times and it was no bother to the staff which we appreciated greatly. Room was tidied daily and towels replenished.

A great hotel in the heart of New York City, steps from Times Square and Rockefeller Center. The room is large, especially by NYC standards, with exemplary cleanliness and a large, elegant bathroom with a Japanese toilet. The room has a refrigerator, a coffee machine, and complimentary coffee, tea and water. We were super appreciative of the friendliness of the staff, the warmth with which we were greeted and the promptness with which they responded to any request we had. We will definitely choose this hotel again.

Very clean hotel with friendly staff and the hotel is just a couple of minutes walk from Grand Central but is a 15-20 minute walk from Times Square, which is worth keeping in mind. There is also complimentary tea, coffee and water available daily on the top floor where you can take in the New York skyline, including a great view of the Chrysler building!

Loved the décor. I was looking for something different than the typically white and beige hotel experience and got it! More space than I was expecting in New York. Pretty central location near the subway and Bryant Park. Times Square and Broadway are just a few steps away but the hotel itself was pretty quiet.

Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
