Do not stay at the Sandcastle Resort. Its disgusting. This is by far the most disappointing motel stay I've ever experienced. The first room had ridiculously old mattresses that looked more like a sway-back horse than a bed and there was a poor whining dog in the room next door that would be quiet. The staff were kind enough to move us to another room but this wasn't any better. This room smelled like the last guest smoked weed in here and there were ants EVERYWHERE in the bathroom and the sink and counter outside the bathroom. There was also someone else's used soap on the window ledge in the shower. If there had been another beach front room available we would have left. This place calls itself a resort but it is a trashy motel. Shame on this company for how they misrepresented this property online. The rooms in the photos look nothing like the dingy dirty ant ridden rooms on site. The carpet is old and musty, the paint is peeling and mildewed in places. The whole place is disgusting. I will be reviewing this place accordingly on every site possible.
The worst part is the front desk staff tried but they are clearly understaffed for what is expected of them. Despite their kindness it was not enough to make up for how generally awful this place is.

The location was perfect to explore Sarasota, St. Armand’s Circle, Lido Beach and several art museums. I also enjoyed the professionalism of the staff from the valet service, to Gianni at the front desk and to the lady organizing the appetizer bar for guests. She was friendly as she poured a glass of wine for the guests.
Lido Beach Resort was by far the place on the beach we’ve ever stayed! The staff was amazing to start, went out of their way daily insuring Lory and I had all we needed and the property was like we were in a movie!!! We are already planning our next adventure there!! Thank you!!

The Westin Sarasota is a business hotel close to ‘aim Street, which reminds me of a city. It is not a good choice for a long beach weekend. If going for a long weekend, you best bet is to stay at a hotel or rental close or on the Lido Beach. The valet and shuttle staff are very responsive. While everyone is quite friendly, the service is super slow at the onsite hotel restaurant. The rooftop bar staff is excellent. However, the rooftop pool is lame.
Loved the location close to Lido Beach and St. Armand's Circle. The house was decorated beautifully and appointed well. Thoroughly enjoyed the heated pool. The kitchen was fantastic in size. We could easily have 2-3 people in the space with no problem. The long counter was great for buffet style serving. The host was very efficient and speedy when called for minor fixes.
The property has three units--this was our second stay. This time we stayed in the biggest middle unit--it is spacious and perfectly suited for a couple. The price was reasonable. The owner, Janina, is totally helpful and responsive to all questions or needs. The location is incredible--4 minute walk to Lido Beach and pool.
She is a wonderful and attentive host. I look for open, kind hearted people and I definitely found it with the house host. She is knowledgeable for the area and receptive to any issues that arise. She was so kind to me towards the end of my trip when I got mild food poisoning and needed some extra help! This is the best value for the area. I felt well cared for. I loved how close to lido beach we were and the less than 30 min drive to siesta keys! Thank you thank you thank you!

Good breakfast. Central location. Plenty of parking. Lido Beach and St. Armands Circle only 10 minutes away by car. Nice salt water pool and spa. Decent gym. Easy access to and from the hotel.
