This guesthouse is in an isolated, somewhat rugged part of the island. It is truly a getaway. If you haven't been to the state of HI before, this is not the island of long, beautiful sandy beaches. The tropical climate, gorgeous ocean crashing views, and lava rock give this this part of the big island it's own beauty.
Houston was a good host and he had a lot of info to share.

Kelly’s rooms are in a cute and private house. There is access to a kitchen and the outdoor seating was great for evening wine sipping and book reading. We left before breakfast for a tour the first morning, but Kelly cheerfully accommodated my gluten intolerance and made us fantastic egg bowls with a cauliflower tortilla the second morning. The location was close to a highway, with a water view over some gorgeous lava cliffs about 10 min away and a fruit stand about 5 min away
