The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. We appreciated the food left in the fridge for us. The porch off of the room was cute and gave a nice quaint view of the property. It was also very convenient to get to volcano national park and the hosts gave a list of places to eat.

We enjoyed walking the short trail behind the Lodge as well as the longer trails in the nearby Park. Kilauea Lodge is a warm, welcoming facility.

The room was beautiful and the whole property sits inside the stunning Hawaiian rain forest. So close to the Hawai’i Volcanoes NP (5 min) that we could stop by the Kīlauea erupting right before going to sleep.

The location was fantastic! We were fortunate to be in Volcano when Kilauea was erupting. Pam and Dean were great hosts, and a bonus was that Dean is a park ranger. They thought of every little touch!

Everything was clean, labeled (drawers and light switches), with good kitchen cooking and laundry supplies, tight screens (no room for bugs), good directions, fast hot water, and quiet neighborhood. Perfect for families and adults with adult kids like us! We were lucky to arrive when Kilauea began erupting again and our host informed us by text good places to watch the show and dine. Couldn’t be happier with the place and the host!

Very clean and very comfortable, plus the location relative to Volcanoes National Park is excellent. I felt very safe here as a solo traveler. It was self check in which is convenient and the instructions provided were easy to follow. One of the owners is a ranger at the National Park and can provide helpful recommendations. If I visit this area again, I intend to return to Kilauea House.

Kilauea House was perfectly located for our visit to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Our only dislike was that we did not plan to stay there longer. The bed was so comfortable. It is such a lovely setting and is very conveniently located near the park. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious.

The environment was absolutely breathtaking. The accommodations and host were wonderful. It was a little far from Hilo and some of the attractions, but less than 5 miles from the volcano park and Kilauea was erupting while we were there, so that was great.
