After having been to Bangla Road in Phuket I found this walking street a waste of time. A friend of mine who also went there a day later said the same things. This was confirmed when I went to the walking street in HCM

Everything you need is available nearby.
Everything you need is available nearby. There is a street one block north that’s parallel to Khoa San Road that’s a little calmer. If you go/stay here, make sure you walk a couple hundred yards west to the river and ride the water buses to explore the city.

Khao San Road is really only for those looking for a big party. If you're not a party person, AVOID!! Walking through will really give you a headache with opposite clubs playing different music extremely loud, plus the staff basically pulling you in to their pubs, shoving menus in your face, so if you're not a party person, avoid at all costs

Our walk in Khao San road was jaw dropping but in a not good way. We were astonished by the extremely loud music that was coming from dozens of bars one next to the other. It was like they were competing in the loudness. The result was a deafening sound pollution of many different music sources.
Other than that it had weed distributors, tattoo studios, food stalls, some fried scorpios included and few clothing stalls.
It was an extraordinary fun for the 20 minutes lasted to walk through it.

If you were here 2 years ago, then this WAS the place to be.
If you were here 2 years ago, then this WAS the place to be. Now, it is a tree-lined family friendly street. In the evenings (Before the alchol ban) there were some Thai clubs with bands. The patrons will be seen sucking gas frm balloons and there might be one or two bucket vans, but NOTHING like the original khao san.

The room, like the entire hotel, was spacious, clean, and over all very nice. The location was convenient, close to Khao San Road but in a quieter area away from the hustle and bustle. One of the highlights of our stay was the staff: friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Highly recommended!
Best choice in Bangkok. Close to Khao San Road, it has a great social space to meet travelers, the hostel offers several activities to socialize with friends, as well as a delicious free dinner.
Quaint little hotel located just off the main road in a back street, easy to get to and park. Staff were lovely, room was spacious, clean a mud very comfortable. Great to have a bath! In a great location to get to Khao San road
Fantastic value for money and the best hotel in Khao San Road area. It is one street back from the main party road so it has the all the convenience but without all the noise. Definitely stay here rather than the slightly cheaper, incredibly noisy and hugely dated properties on Khao San Road itself.
Lilit Bang Lumphu Hotel is a great place to stay with four-star comfort! It is always kept clean and the staff are lovely. The cafe, pool and the working space are all great and highly recommend staying here. It is very well located and close Khao San Road and there are loads of local eating spots nearby. Will stay here again.
The room was clean.
The reception is open 24h. We arrived at midnight and the staff helped us to go to the room.
The staff is kind.
The hostel is close to khao San road and the Grand Palace.
We could borrow a hairdryer.
Very friendly staffs, especially the girls. Their big smiles every day did form a good part of my trip in Thailand. The garden view room was amazing, clean and cozy, with a very nice view to the very well designed courtyard. The hotel is near Khao San Road, which may not be the city centre but definitely the best area in Bangkok! A lot of nice café, restaurants, bars, clubs and souvenir shops without working girls.
Excellent little hotel in a great location, just minutes walk from khao san road. Exactly as depicted in the photos on the website. Breakfast was superb.
