Excellent hotel with superb staff. We didn't book tickets for Machu Picchu but the hotel staff helped us navigate the very complex system to buy tickets and we had a fantastic stay overall. Reception and dining staff were always trying to make us feel welcome and were simply amazing.

❤️🔥❤️🔥Wooow!!! everything they organized for us on site was stunning, there was no end to the delights! Live cooking, which was the best ceviche I have ever eaten, in addition, a guided trip to the jungle and to the waterfall, and at night, a bonfire by the river!! With star watching!! the next morning, thermal pools and another trip to a viewpoint! They also prepared a special demonstration of coffee and cocoa beans for us, with the preparation process from the bushes to grinding and tasting of freshly ground coffee and cocoa. Me and my friends were delighted, we extended our stay and we will definitely come back!!! That is my favorite place in Peru 🇵🇪❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

Crazy amazing!
Crazy amazing! Try to go earlier in the day to avoid crowds and afternoon thunderstorms. Book entrance tickets in advance online. It's a bit cumbersome, but saves on at site delays with security passport checks. If it's your first time, hire a local guide. Well worth the extra money for their insights, paced hiking, and attention to features not readily obvious.

It's beautiful but they herd you through like cattle and scream at you when you take your mask off for a quick photo. We found it very stressful and had to hide from guards in order to try to appreciate the place. It's about how many people they can push through. We also got extorted money from us to enter as they made up a story about our booking brewing cancelled but they took money from my credit card. Nit happy!!

Get a tour guide at the top after you get off the bus, there are plenty available and you can bargain with them to lower the price less than each $25 each person. It was worth it, just for someone to take ALL the photos we wanted (no selfie sticks are allowed on mtn!!!) The hike up to the top of the mtn can be done with lots of places to stop and admire the view and take a breathier!!! Get up there early and stay until noon. Getting down is MUCH easier with less stops!

This is a must see that should be on everybody's bucket list. Very rewarding. Worth every dime and every step. I did the Inca trail. 4 days and 3 nights through some of the most stunning sites you'll ever see.

You’ll need 2 days if you plan to hike Wayna Picchu. the citadel is super crowded in the morning and clears out around 2. You have to enter with a guide so make sure you find one who speaks your language fluently and has a good knowledge of the history. guides can be reserved for your entire stay in the sacred valley and Machu Picchu and they meet you at each site. We paid $100 a day for someone with vast knowledge, fluent English and amazing organizational skills and it was well worth it. The daily price should included his/her transportation, accommodation and Meals (so $100 was very good value). He was able to ensure everything and everyone was where it was supposed to be. There are hordes of guides at the gate waiting to swarm unsupervised tourists and not all guides are created equal. If you plan on climbing wayna Picchu, plan to go EARLY. The climb is no joke. Bring enough water, good hiking shoes, and grippy gloves (to hold the cables that you will rely on) and SUNSCREEN. There is no toilet and no place to get water inside the site and you can only exit and re-enter once with your wayna picchu ticket. We took Lifestraw brand water bottles so that we could fill up at bathroom taps since the water is not safe to drink normally without boiling and bottled is expensive and in plastic.

just after entering the main entrance, start to climb on the left and keep climbing and going up and further up, even when others stop. Once you are past the hut, you will see Machu Picchu open up before your eyes, below you. When the sun crests the mountain, the city will be bathed in glory (sol) and it will be time to be thankful or maybe drop to your knees and propose to the one you are with...

As has been said, Machu Picchu embodies the mystery of the Inkan empire's incredible architectural and construction feat. Being there in person and being in the midst of this sanctuary while also learning about its history and about each section of the sanctuary is an experience of a lifetime that leaves a profound and lasting impression.
