Great hotel. Feels like being at a lodge. One spa was closed for maintenance but other than that we loved our stay. Clean cosy and warm

Very nice and quiet, perfectly located accommodation. Very clean and well equipped rooms. The owner/manager gave us perfect tips for our hike to the Red Crater and the lakes. If our plans had allowed it, we would have stayed longer.

Andre and Sonja’s property was wonderful, and they were incredibly friendly and hospitable. It was homey and warm during our stay which was cold and rainy. They have a beautiful yard looking out into the river and greenery, very peaceful and quiet for those looking for that. We look forward to being back when we have the chance to come down again.
Plateau Lodge is located 15 minutes’ drive from UNESCO World Heritage listed Tongariro National Park, where guests can enjoy skiing, hiking, cycling and paddling activities.

Loved the little pods with the outdoor bath we upgraded to on our 2nd night. Would stay in those again. The shared lounge facilities are cozy and well eqiopped. Beds are all comfy and rooms cosy.

Location was great if you were wanting to visit Whakapapa (10 min drive only to the mountain). Had a charming bar setting. Hot tubs were also really nice and reasonably priced.
Really grateful that Skotel could accomodate us with our needs. Not the ideal room, but close to our needs.
Great supportive crew, had an excellent conversation with the owner on a number of occasions, very helpful.
Good to have the option for dinner and breakfast which is difficult in Whakapapa these days.
It’s location since it’s just a short drive down from Mt Ruapehu plus the amazing view of Mt Ngauruhoe. Also it’s also good to know that there is a ski/snow gear rental in the hotel. Very helpful for those coming up to Whakapapa Ski Area.
10mins drive to Whakapapa Ski Field. Convenient ski rental located in the hotel, friendly and helpful staff there. Have in house restaurant which provides not fancy but decent food. Staff quite nice.
Excellent location, close to Whakapapa ski field and national park. Small room but was fine to fit 2 adults and 2 little kids for the night. Kids loved the bunk bed. Had own bathroom and small fridge/kettle which was nice. Good to have restaurant onsite, food okay.
The location is great. Close to the Whakapapa ski field and great view of Mt Ngaurahoe. The resort has facilities for all you might need: restaurant, bar, communal kitchen, ski gear hire, spa bath and sauna. Overall, highly recommend.
Excellent location in Whakapapa village and right on the trail for the Tongariro Northern Circuit.
Has a great alpine chalet vibe with a really cosy bar overlooking the volcano.
Good family room with bunks and nice fresh white linen. Even though the hotel is slightly dated the proper hotel linen makes everything feel clean and fresh. They had a games room and kids area which was great for the kids - they loved it. Food service was great - nice dinner options and a buffet breakfast which was handy as there is nothing else close by.
